The much anticipated presidential debate took place last night. However, President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP did not participate.
While Buhari did not get to the venue, Atiku was at the venue but left, saying he took the action because of Buhari’s absence.
“We came here for a Presidential debate, not a candidacy debate, and I, Atiku Abubakar cannot challenge or question an administration where the man at the helm of the affairs of the nation is not present to defend himself or his policies,” he wrote on Twitter.
Kingsley Moghalu of the YPP, Fela Durotoye of ANN, and Oby Ezekwesili of ACPN were the three candidates who participated in the debate.
