Superstar singer Tiwa Savage joins Dr Tunji Funsho, Chair of Rotary’s National PolioPlus Committee for Nigeria, to participate in a National Immunization exercise in Lagos, Nigeria.

It has been three years since Nigeria’s last reported case of wild polio virus.

The executive director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Faisal Shuaib, urged Nigerians to ensure they do not lose sight of the huge amount of work left to be done before being certified polio free by relevant global organisation, Africa News reports.

“Today, the 21st day of August 2019, Nigeria makes history having achieved three years without a case of wild polio virus, WPV. The last wild polio virus case was isolated in a child in Borno state on the 21st of August 2016,” Shuaib said.
