Love is so beautiful and we can’t get over how it shows up in the sweetest ways.  Taiwo was instantly attracted to Olufunmilade when he set eyes on her during Single’s fellowship in the church.

He wasted no time in shooting his shot and what Olufunmilade thought was just a mere crush on Taiwo, ended up being the sweetest fairytale ever. Now, they are set to embark on a journey for a lifetime and we are so excited. They are giving us butterflies with their gorgeous pre-wedding photos and we bet they will have the same effect on you as you scroll.

Enjoy their pre-wedding shoot and love story below:

How we met
By the bride, Olufunmilade:

My journey to falling in love with him was a process. We started as friends, even though I had a crush on him. I needed to be sure of my feelings and not just act on a crush. After my birthday in 2021, I started noticing how intentional he was about me. I also saw how serious he was about his faith and growing spiritually. He has a great work ethic which I always admired. He is strong, well-mannered, and full of solutions. My love for him grew stronger. I saw his selflessness, discipline, consistency, and support. We share the same dreams and goals and I realized he was the right person to support and guide me. My love for him came with assurance and confirmation from God. As we embarked on this journey, a sense of peace blossomed within me and as time passed, our commitment deepened. He just had to be the one.An important goal for me was to make the right choice in marriage, and I’m grateful God guided him into my life.

How we met
By the groom, Taiwo:

We met in April 2019 at the DayStar Singles fellowship (DSF), an event organized for single people on Friday evenings. It was a chance to escape the week’s stress and have some fun. For her, It wasn’t exactly her plan to go, her sister (Funto) sort of persuaded her into it. During the event, they were showing a movie called “ACRIMONY.” It was a movie that stirred quite a bit of debate due to its storyline. While everyone was engrossed in the movie, I was deep in conversation with others who attended due to my contrary position, which sparked discussions that bounced back and forth. Amidst this debate, I noticed her from a few seats away because she wasn’t exactly on board with my viewpoint. I recall that she tried to interject with strong gestures and expressions, trying to make her point heard. Eventually, I decided to let her share her thoughts and put my jokes aside.

After the event, I asked for her number as per sharp guy with futuristic eyesight, and she gave it to me. That day, amidst all the chatter and opinions, a spark of connection was born from my end. (haha) From the moment we met, I noticed something special about her. I loved how smart she was in expressing her thoughts clearly, even in tough and sensitive discussions. Not everyone can do that, especially when the discussion is tricky. As we got to know each other better, I found how devoted she was to her local church, and her growing business at the time, and saw her to be very hardworking. In my heart of hearts, I was like,” Wow! This is a discovery! (She didn’t think these things were a big deal because she grew up seeing these qualities in others.) My greatest admiration for her is that she is strong and independent and it is not for show.

I strongly believe that God intended for us to be together. I mean, how can I chop breakfast twice and still undeniably love and care for this person? On the side. The first time I told her that I loved her, she said no and asked if I could buy her shawarma, which I did with my last card…people of God, I trekked from Opebi to my house that day. My love for her grew and being in a relationship with the most beautiful woman in the world brought me immense joy and peace. When we began dating, I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. I admired how committed she was to nurturing our relationship, and she checked off all the right boxes for me. This foundation became the bedrock upon which we built our commitment to one another.
