Arise Africa Fashion Week: Nkwo
Posted on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 at 1:34 pmBy Ijeoma Ndekwu
The Nkwo collection features volume created with layers of tulle, silk and the softness and fluidity of chiffon in earthly warm colours. The vibrant print fabrics come alive, with bubble hems, frill details on the necklines, tulip skirts and dresses.
The ‘print’ embroidery on her pieces is proof of her distinctive craftsmanship as a designer. It is also an exquisite complement to the fabrics as it stimulates interest in the burst, neckline and waist line of her pieces. Her collection comes off as organic; reflective of the beauty of the African soil!

where can i get here stuff from
I have been a big fan of Nkwo since I discovered her at a fair in London. The women has amazing talent and a down to earth mentality that will get her very very far. I have several of her outfits and it is amazing how feminine and elegant they are…but more important, how they make me feel. Nkwo designs for women, no matter how we are shaped and in which places we are most blessed
I would really recommend any women to buy one of her outfits. She has very wearable stuff that will still turn heads.

Nkwo is very very Nigeria, a fab gal and down to earth. At present she is in the Uk check out her web site http://www.Nkwo.co.uk, she is coming to Nija with a bang in September for her own show, so watch this space.
