Dr SID spoke with us last week (link here), and his promise was that his video would be out soonest. And true to his word, “Pop Something” is out.
The Video was shot exclusively in Lagos at Tribeca Nightclub by Waltbanger.

Well, the quality was good and I wasn’t too expectant so I’m not disappointed by the video

This song just encapsulates everything that is wrong with Lagos in particular. The empty lyrics ( if you can call them that), the stupid repitition and the endless reference to Champagne. if anyone can sing a song without mentioning Champagne or rose or saying the word “pop”, then I would be truly blown away. RUBBISH!!!!
And oh, it’s also a stupid, stupid video.

People, seriously, if you don’t like something then you’re entitled to your opinion but there’s a difference between a “meaningful” song and a club banger. 80% of US and UK songs being played on air and in the nightclubs make no sense. If you want to listen to the lyrics of a track and feel like there’s a deeper meaning you can do that while you’re curled up on your sofa reading a book with a glass of red wine. Put on some Sade or Asa. But if you’re going out to have fun with your friends in a nightclub, laugh your head off and dance your heart out, then Pop pop pop pop .. pop something for goodness sakes! Mohits makes music for the masses to forget their daily stresses and just let their hair down and have a laugh. It dosen’t mean that they’re mindless drones or that the music has no soul. It dosen’t even matter which country the artist is from, party music is party music. Sid has a mixture of songs on his album, you’re not going to love them all, you may not like any at all.. but then, some people can’t stand Drake, Lil Wayne, Nikki Minaj, Beyonce or Rhianna.. it’s up to you.

For those commenting about the water – it’s obvious that you don’t get the video. Sid and the crew order water at first (koko water I’m presuming) Then when they get taunted by the other crew they order champagne and begin a battle/stand off. In regards to the song it is a novelty song – it’s not meant to be taken too seriously, guess that note is a little late for some of you.

jeez, some people can over-analyze sha. The song/video is simply a club banger like LollyLols said and its not meant to be taken seriously! You should see my friends and I jamming our asses off in the car when driving to the club and listening to this!
