Such sad news.
Zambian beauty queen/TV presenter, Mofya Chisenga has passed away. The 28 year old reportedly passed away due to complications after childbirth.
Moyfa represented Zambia at the 2006 Miss Universe pageant, Miss Tourism Queen International Pageant 2005 in China and the Miss Leisure World 2008 pageant in China. The news of Mofya’s death was broken by UKZambians.co.uk. Just a year ago, Mofya was a judge at the first-ever Miss Southern Africa Zambia pageant in Lusaka.
We remember her beautiful smile and charity work especially her efforts to raise funds for orphans.
Update
From the Post Zambia -
University Teaching Hospital spokesperson, Pauline Mbangeta said Mofya, was taken to the institution around 08:00 hours on Friday in a critical condition.“I am told she died here at UTH, she died last night at 22:00 hours Friday.
What happened was that on September 27, about three weeks ago, she was admitted with malaria in pregnancy then she was discharged. Then yesterday she was brought in a very critical condition with pulmonary oedema in cardiac patient. That’s actually fluid in the lungs,” Mbangweta said.
Mbangweta said Mofya (left) was in a critical condition but that the doctors managed to deliver her baby girl at around 13:00 hours on Friday.
“She was in a very critical condition but our doctors managed to deliver the baby at 13:00 hours using forceps because of the condition that the patient was in, she was quite ill. After delivering the baby, they decided to resuscitate the patient and the patient was actually there, she died around 22:00 hours. So she did not die during childbirth, she delivered the baby but because she had this condition already, she died later in the night,” said Mbangweta.
Mofya’s untimely passing is a stark reminder on the rate of maternal death all around the world.

RIP!!! I too can feel this cos I have being on that road. I had complications during my last delivery, with God and my guts I stayed on the doctors case. I can only imagine the pain her loved feel right now.
May her soul rest in peace. sad news. May God strengthen her family.
I am soooo soooo hurt by this death because i know in my heart this coulda been avoided, NO WOMAN should ever die during child birth. I dont know this lady but i had to shed a tear when i heard it. She is so gorgeous beautiful and also story goes that she actually lost BOTH of her parents at a young age and during one of her wins in the pageants she did say bcos of that she had to grow up fast especially since she was the soul bread winner and had to take care of her young siblings.
Life is not fair at all.
If there is anywhere where we can give donations to her funds – i will.

Gosh, this is so sad, keeps reminding one how thankful we should be to God for our lives. Been to the labour room 6 times and each time on my toes and about the next day. May she have eternal rest now and reunite with her lost loved ones.
RIP pretty damsel!
Awwww…this is so sad, such a young lady. May her soul rest in peace.
she is sooooo pretty eyahhhhhhh
This is so disheartening. It actually happens all around the world, only more in some part.Doctors only try,its GOD that actually watches, monitors both the unborn babies and their mums, and HE alone delivers them at His appointed time.Ultra sound Scan cant reveal it all.Otherwise, her team of medical practitioners could obviously have noticed the water in her lungs before her condition became worse, and of course I Know she’ll settle for the best hands for her ante-natal.I REALLY PITY HER.MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE, AND MAY THE LORD SHIELD HER BABY FOREVER.Every woman that gets pregnant, delivers safely, and leaves the hospital safely with her baby should forever remain grateful to her doctor -GOD.IT IS WELL WITH US WOMEN.
my mum died of the same issue
wow….May her soul rest in perfect peace and I pray for strength and blessings upon her family who will raise her daughter from now on…May the good Lord comfort them , In Jesus name.Amen
Oh oh she was realy pretty,MAY HER SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE
Oh, how very sad and there’s that added pain which her husband will go through everytime he sees his daughter who he’ll be grateful came out alive but yet who will always remind him of her. Such a sad story, God help her family at this painful time.
