We style watchers love to see when our famous celebrities, socialites and top dignitaries wear stylish looks straight off the African or international runway? Today, we have one of the city of Lagos’ most photographed women, Nkiru Anumudu.

On Day 3 of the just concluded 2012 MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week which took place from Wednesday 24th October 2012 – Saturday 27th October 2012 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, our BN Style radar spotted style star, Nkiru Anumudu in a retro-inspired palette of purple, red and taupe Margerita wool-blend brocade coat and cropped pants from Italian design label, Miu Miu‘s Fall/Winter 2012 collection.

Known for her fearless sense of style, Nkiru Anumudu rocked the ensemble very well by accessorizing with a red snake skin leather clutch, blue blouse, diamond jewellery and sky-high bi-colour Mary Janes platform.

Nkiru’s straight from the runway look retails on Net-A-Porter, click here for the jacket and here for the cropped trousers.

The all-print look is so bang on trend. We love her fearless approach to style!

Apart from the fact that its a Miu Miu design, personally I don’t like the design. Nkiru has always been known to rock designer labels.

    • Missy November 5, 2012 at 1:53 PM

      I totally agree Oma

    • M3l November 5, 2012 at 1:57 PM

well, it does look better on her..um..compared to the model.

      Fearless is the word.

    • notaplayerhater November 5, 2012 at 2:28 PM

well, Miu miu, this looks like a basic Da Viva print. so welcome to the Ankara band wagon.
Mrs Anumudu, like nina said… fearless is the word.

The problem with this kind of outfit be say she no go know who to dash am when she is tired of it…..who else wan wear this kain cloth beside Nkiru??

    • temmy November 5, 2012 at 2:39 PM

Thanks bn 4 d post;if she can patronize miumiu for ds (lovely)outfit,we should also learn to appreciate our designers and not talk them down when we feel that their designs is not “out of this world “like some pple expect all the time.in d words of tsemaye binitie “fashion could be anything and everythng, but it is nothin if its not wearable”.

      • wemimo November 5, 2012 at 10:37 PM

That’s the problem. Why do Nigerian designers think the wealthy ought to patronize them? If it’s well made and comes with a good price tag, someone will buy it. After all she wore Maki Oh at Arise.

just because it’s of the runway doesn’t mean you have to wear it. This outfit does not flatter her at all; And the red bag, the shoes, the blouse, the hair, too much going on.

    • TINUFORBES November 5, 2012 at 3:32 PM

@cool you dont know nkiru well thats why u can say she has too much going on. nkiru`s style is not for the faint hearted this look is her less scarier i have ever seen. but i like her she dosent care as long as she is got money it speaks for her….. i always look out for her in magazines

I don’t understand how her hair is never as fab as her clothes… Anyhoo, she’s fearless and so I love her

    • Nnenna November 5, 2012 at 4:37 PM

If this piece was connected to a main story it would make sense. Its not like you are doing a story on bold prints. It looks like someone just picked up on the fact that the outfit was miu miu and just pasted this story. I know you like glorifying money bags so if you like dont post my comment, not bovvered! Still like some aspects of your blog and will continue to visit.

Jesus! I had to move 10 inches away from the computer screen when i clicked on the article. Some outfits should remain either on the runway or away from certain people and this happens to be one of them.

    • Omo Gbelepawo November 5, 2012 at 5:20 PM

Miu Miu or not, this is not for me.

    • B November 5, 2012 at 5:40 PM

You got to love this woman and her damn gutts! She doesnot not give a flying potato whats she comes out across or her critics opinions, she just does it! Crazy, foolish and sometimes ugly as it is, she is true to herself, always consistent and that for me makes her beautiful. I actually love her.
At TINUFORBES lol @ Njiru’s style is not for the fainthearted. So true..

    • choclate November 5, 2012 at 6:29 PM

      £2,000 on cloth! nawa oooo

    • kiki m November 5, 2012 at 10:02 PM

Other wealthy women her age will look at fashion magazines and only get the bags and shoes because *cough* they can’t pull it off (too fat, short etc). Nkiru brings the fantasy to life. She dey her own league! Kudos!

PS – Don’t forget her Croc Hermes Kelly Longue, which can probably buy the whole Miu Miu look.

    • Gimmer November 6, 2012 at 4:34 AM

I love me some nkiru high fashions

    • Anie November 6, 2012 at 5:00 AM

That jacket retails for $2,250 and the pants retails for $1050. She should make me her stylist and I will give her a better look for $500.

    • onnari November 6, 2012 at 5:38 AM

she IS a fearless fashionista but i’m not feeling this look on her.

I think She is FABULOUS! Is she not like in her 40s? Wow.. Love her! If I had money like that, Im rocking clothes like that!

    • hunniebunnie November 7, 2012 at 3:18 AM

She must be older. Her son was my classmate in secondary school and I’m 30. She was always looking hot on visiting days. Couldn’t wait to see her. Lol!

    • To November 8, 2012 at 2:47 PM

If nigerian designer clothes are not up to par, don’t expect people to buy, it’s their choice,. The designer needs to get the right skills!

I’m just thankful to God that her foundation is okay in this picture. Usually her face is WHITE and heavily made up and then her remaining body is yellow. Makes her look weird.
