“I am seeing many great, famous, popular rich men and politicians will become helpless…” Popular Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua delivers Prophecies for 2013

One of the highlights of the new year in Nigeria is the deluge of prophesies by popular pastors. These prophesies make the headlines of newspapers and tabloids then are referenced all through the year if and when incidences occur.

The pastor of one of the fastest growing pentecostal churches in Nigeria, SCOAN – The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, Pastor T.B Joshua ushered in the New Year with a special service at the church’s headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.

Here is an account of his prophesies;

Loud applause heralded Joshua’s arrival in the service, and he went straight into the prophecy for the year, stating that people wished to hear the mind of God for the upcoming year.

(Unpleasant) Surprises for Famous, Popular and Rich Men including Politicians
2013 is a year of surprises. I am seeing many great, famous, popular and rich men and politicians will become helpless and in need of help in matters of sickness, disease, finances, death, etc,” he said in the service broadcast live on the popular Christian station Emmanuel TV. “One of the causes, they have failed to reward those who helped them to succeed. This is the year of judgement  especially for politicians who use youth to support their political ambitions without reward after winning power.

Farming will Flourish
Joshua then proceeded to celebrate the future of farming, claiming that providence would favour those who engaged in it this year. “Those in the foodstuff business will have a field day this year. Farming and agriculture will be the order of the day and will help greatly to be the source of solution this year. People engaged in it will be greatly blessed.

Joshua was emphatic in his conviction that such actions would reap great rewards, stating it was a secret God had revealed to him. “Foodstuff business and agriculture or farming are anointed businesses this New Year, to revive the world from economic depression. This is the secret of God revealed to you today. Quote me; you will not regret doing it. My name is T.B. Joshua.

Message for Young People – Stop Travelling Abroad and Invest in Agriculture
Joshua, speaking to the thousands who had gathered in his church to usher in the New Year, counselled young people who spent vast resources of energy, time and finances in the pursuit of foreign travel to rather invest in agriculture. “They will achieve greatness by transacting in agriculture and foodstuff and become successful in export and import business.

Message for Couples & Prospective Entrepreneurs
He further advised couples dissatisfied with their current occupations to allow one of them to pursue a career in agronomy. “Those who have been working for many years and have never been satisfied with the job and salary they receive, the little limited resources at their disposal should be invested in foodstuff business or agriculture, especially those already married. They should divide themselves in such a way that either the husband or wife should step down from service where they receive salary and face agriculture.

Answered prayers for couples “seeking for the fruit of the womb”
He proclaimed that faithful Christians would receive answers to prayers, especially in the area of couples seeking for the fruit of the womb.

Be Charitable!
Joshua called on people to engage in charitable activities, especially in provision of scholarships to deserving young people. “Share their pain and share their joy. This year, there is great reward in doing this if you do it with all your heart.

Natural Disasters & Accidents
Additionally, Joshua predicted that natural disasters would continue to abound, alongside accidents on land, sea and air.

Stop Praying against your Enemies
He concluded by advising people to stop the habit of praying against enemies. “Stop praying against those who hurt you. This year, you will see clearly that God is God of vengeance. Instead, you should pray for them.

More Prophesies to Come
Joshua stated that he would be revealing further prophetic messages for the international community and world leaders in subsequent services. He then prayed for the congregation, including the thousands who had gathered in huge overflow tents outside, decreeing that 2013 would be a year where ‘new dreams come true’ for genuine Christians.

So what do you think about the prophesies?

Rubbish. Will come with general stuff and be claiming prophesies

    • lucabracee January 1, 2013 at 6:39 pm

im not a member of his church but his predictions are clearly meant as a guide even if you totally dismiss it as hogwash as a nigerian he points out that “investing in agriculture and all business connected to this is a money spinner” this might not mean much to you but to those who are entrepreneurs seeking spiritual guidance its a GOD sent literally
besides what has he said that is rubbish

      • Boo January 1, 2013 at 6:50 pm

So can you truly say that as an investor looking for where to invest your moneyy that u’ll invest in agric because tb joshua said so?

      • anon January 2, 2013 at 1:43 pm

All you need to do is look at the figures, economic trend and needs pf a growing nigeria to figure out that agric is one of the next growth areas

    • errrr January 1, 2013 at 10:06 pm

Even if its general stuff, this words are still important.

He said we should be charitable, invest in agriculture, trust God for ‘fruits’ etc.

I am not even a pentecostal christian but this time TB Joshua actually made some sense to me.

He’s a great economist, just like dat American guy dats correctly forecasted d last 4 or so American presidential elections. He’s been looking at Ghana and their thriving coco
And agriculture business as well as the reinstatement of Dana’s flying license.

  • BSR January 1, 2013 at 6:46 pm

Anyone can prophesy all he’s said too. It’s not specific (apart from the agriculture thing).
Natural disasters are always bound to happen.
As human’s (whether political, rich etc) we are bound to be helpless in many areas, only if we have God as our back bone.
I know some people will quit their jobs and run into agriculture and some will put all their life savings into it because he said so without much thinking and then fail.

with everything, one has to be cautious and seek God’s face and counsel. May He lead us right.

    • Sam January 2, 2013 at 6:49 am

he didn’t advice that you should quit your present job for agriculture….all he said for married couple — they should try and share themselves, while one continues with salary things, the other should manage the agric.

I’m just curious, does he ever give positive prophesies? I only read about him foreseeing death and disaster.

    • errrr January 1, 2013 at 10:04 pm

This list is not all negative though.

A lot of it is actually positive advice and encouragement.

We SHOULD be investing in Agriculture regardless.

No one shoud doubt what the spirit has just decleared. Greedy and corrupt politicians must not live, almighty God should out half their days. In respect of agriculture: it is only lazy man will have two mind towards investing in agriculture. You can hardly go bankrupt if you invest in agriculture which is the base of every economy.

  • AKHAINE ORIAFO EDWARD January 1, 2013 at 10:13 pm

Anyway i dont have anything to sAY but the truth is that…..our leaders should start living right not just right but leading by examples……..for there is a parable that says those who live in glass house dont throw stones……..who would have thought that they too will start dying of road accidents…….even helicopter too…..so a word is enough for the wise……he who have eyes let him hear…..where are they even taking all this money to anyway…….na wa oh

  • Lamide January 1, 2013 at 11:31 pm

All these fake pastors and general prophesy….lmao. Yeah. I serve a specific God. Yep a God of specificity. A God who turned again the captivity of Zion. My everlasting guided missile God. He hits his target. He parted the Red Sea…see..he did specific things, to specific people at specific places. I urge you all to seek God directly and stop following all these people coming up with general things. I could have come up with that mess there and I ain’t even a minister.

  • Jumoke pele January 1, 2013 at 11:52 pm

    It is well

  • fm January 2, 2013 at 12:59 am

As for me any prophesy shud neva b ridiculed despite ur beliefs. What shud be done is heed and do wat u can do rather dan one sayn a pastor is sayn rubbish, let God be the judge. Not evry spiritual leader has d gifts of prophesy d Bible speaks on dis gifts thus not just any1 can declare else he is false and looking for God’s trouble. He prophesised in Ghana and u beta believe they came to past same as a football match. All I plead is be conscious of wat u say.

  • Phantom January 2, 2013 at 11:13 am

I neither believe or disbelieve him. But I do applaud his approach. Somewhat threatening the powers that be with repercussions isn’t a bad idea. I think this is a better apprach than seeming to support an erring leader/politician. Our religious leaders need to understand that they hold away with the masses and we need to hold them accountable. Even if you believe God will eventually do that, it is still in your right to question a man of God. S/He is human and not God reincarnated.
We have become a people who are so hungry and in need of our daily bread that we fail to hold people accountable. If you’ll criticize GEJ or any pastor or imam, first be willing to jack up your father/uncle/mentor/whoever that you know is chopping. Well those are my scattered thoughts in early 2013. Happy new year everyone.

      • Simya January 4, 2013 at 1:43 pm

LMAO..Asin!!!! It cannot be the same English. Mr Victor fear God

  • Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi January 2, 2013 at 5:20 pm

Prophesy is for believers, to guide, comfort, strengthen, warn and lift the people of God. It is a gift has has suffered neglect and scorn when the world felt science and reasoning are enough to guide man. But its coming back strong and being appreciated. It will always be controversial : firstly because the vessel God use to deliver is not perfect or will deliver based on his awareness . Secondly people find the language of prophesy too clumsy. How many people could understand what Isaiah was predicting in Isaiah 53 concerning Jesus Christ. Isaiah himself couldn’t even fully appreciate the magnitude. Or when David thousands of years before the revelation and knowledge of christ wrote ” the lord said to my lord”.
Prophets are many but not loud. They are generally withdrawn, live remotely and can’t parckage. If you come from a prophetic ministry you will understand how easily God still speak to people ‘every day’ . They are chosen not because they are more perfect. It runs in family, community, church. It’s more of an act of covenant.
