Flavour

Off his most recent “Blessed” album, Flavour‘s “Chinny Baby” is a soulful contemporary HighLife-meets-Afro Pop love ballad. And with stunning visuals from Trademark Pictures, the touching love story is told just as excellently aesthetically as it was musically.

Flavour needs to shoot videos of the very good songs on his album. Not saying this song is bad, but compared to other hits like Ifem N’eli, Ada Ada, To Be A Man,Ikpokripo – this song is just average.

    • nnenne February 27, 2013 at 3:52 PM

Tomi i totally agree with you. not that the song is bad but if he has to do 5 videos only from his entire album, i don’t even expect Chinny to make the list. meanwhile a friend of mine saw him @ the airport yesterday and said he’s such a down to earth guy and very cool too.

    • MIMIFONWON February 27, 2013 at 6:22 PM

nothing thought provoking, smh!! he could have done something that most africans in general can relate to, maybe having her travel on business, as an educated smart hard working independent woman, and him at home in village or nigeria taking care of the kids waiting on her, you know role flip and it would be so romantic and adhering to the song. I really liked this song too..

the weakness and wackiness of this guys lyrics are worrying. What exactly is it about Chinny he is trying to tell us?
@Nnenne, you friend was right. He sure is a down to earth fella but the quality of his music is worrying.

      • eziokwu,haters gonna hate February 27, 2013 at 11:02 PM

seriously, which kin hating be this?! flavour music quality is weak and wacky?!! abeg go write your perfect lyrics and either sing it or sell it lets hear.i am sure it will be the best.if you listen well enough you can tell the song is about a loved one who actually left/broke up with him but he ‘hopes/wishes she will come back’ not that she ‘traveled’. you want him not to be subtle in his lyrics at all.i guess you want a b c type of lyrics.

    • Iyke February 27, 2013 at 8:23 PM

      Chinni Daaarling daaarling…..lol. Ibo Man.
This is an 80s rhythm….The kind of song daddy used to woo mama.Beer parlor and pepper soup song.

    • NNENNE February 28, 2013 at 1:29 AM

To all the critics…. This is an African love song. The main audience are Africans and it is LOVELY.
Mr Flavor, market it well and it will sell! Take my word for it.
      Nice song!!!!!

every once in a while, I run into a Nigerian video that looks like some creative person actually made an effort. love the video…the song: ummmmmmmm?

    • yudy February 28, 2013 at 8:24 AM

U guys are just big critics&that is so unneccessary! Why didn’t u all ask Inyanya the meaning&y he always have scanty or no lyrics in all his songs?Yet,u all sing n dance to it!Nigerians, stop hating n apprecite ur own!Its not esy to make a Video oh!let alone sing

Officially boycotting Flavour’s music. He thinks he is too good to use Nigerian and/or African girls in his music videos anymore.
Forgetting thats what got him his stardom, now he “don arrive”
      mtchewwww
