They say; ‘the eyes are the windows to your soul’ – which is very true;  through the eyes, you can tell a person’s age, health & mood. In terms of beauty, major challenges concerning the eyes are: eye bags, dark circles and the redness of the eyes.

As the saying goes there is always a natural and inexpensive solution to any beauty challenge. Here, we are going to be talking about using natural methods to brighten the eyes and get rid of eye bags/dark circles. After reading this article, you get to save your money, as well as get safe and effective results. Instead of over spending on numerous eye creams and other products in the market today.

We are going to start off with bright eyes. The redness of the eyes is a very popular and general beauty challenge that is faced by both men and women. It could be caused by numerous conditions such as: uveitis, an inflammation of the uvea – the middle layer of your eye beneath the white; or  conjunctivitis, which  is also an inflammation of the clear layer that protects the front of the eye, allergies or bacteria. However, general causes of redness of the eyes are, staring at the computer screen for long hours, infected contact lenses, straining the eyes, tiredness and most times Blepharitis, which is caused by excess bacteria due to the use of mascaras and eye-liners. You can also research more on these conditions.

If your eyes are red and you’re tired of using different products, you might want to try these natural methods:

For redness caused by starring at your computer screen for long hours, the remedy is simple: blink often and give your eyes at least 60 minutes rest away from the computer screen.

Other causes of redness of the eyes can be treated with this DIY remedy. This type treatment deals more with the inner body. If your eyes are red for no just reason, increase your intake of vitamin A, C and E, as these vitamins are powerful anti-oxidants that enhances the function of the eyes and promotes general healing.

Also increase your intake of carrots. Carrots are very common and delicious too, so this is certainly going to be fun consuming. This orange vegetable makes the eyes brighter and whiter. Make sure the carrots are fresh. You can also make a juice out of it and apply a small amount of the carrot juice on your eyelids. Leave it on all night, then wash off gently in the morning.

Eye exercise and water are very crucial in the process of brightening red eyes. Drinking at least 8 cups of water a day, this will go a long way in your bright-eyes-beauty-regime. It’s not easy drinking water, but you can spice-up your water by adding a slice of your favorite fruit.

Exercising the eyes is very easy and not strenuous, just take a pen, keep your eyes focused on the tip, then move the pen vertically and horizontally, do this for 3 minutes.

Lastly, for dark-circles/eye-bags, all you need is a pair black tea bags (any brand will do), olive oil, turmeric powder, a soft pillow and a clean/soft face towel.

Using tea bags for the eyes is a wonderful and effective way of reducing eye-bags and dark circles. Polyphenols and tannins are major contents in black tea, which enhances the process of skin regeneration, whereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles and preventing pre-mature ageing.

Olive oil is a very popular oil and has been used for centuries. It is rich in vitamin E, A and natural fatty acids. Olive oil has a powerful antioxidants, which prevents skin aging, the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Also, it nourishes, maintains skin elasticity and protects the skin.

Turmeric is a spice with huge benefits. It is popularly used in China for the traditional medicines. Though it’s an anti-inflammatory agent that is used to treat different kinds of diseases and health problems, it can also be used for beauty purposes; in terms of whitening and firming the skin.

For the dark-circles/ eye-bags treatment, mix the turmeric power with olive oil and form a paste. Before you apply the paste all over the eye area, wash your face and be gentle around the eye-area. Apply the paste horizontally until you’ve covered the whole area, do this carefully so it doesn’t enter the eyes.

After 15 minutes   gently wipe-off the paste with a soft towel. Place the teabags in the freezer for 3 minutes.  After 3 minutes, take it out and place on eyes while it’s closed. You can relax your head on the pillow and listen to soft music.

This process eases tension and puts your entire body in a calm state. You can switch the teabag to the other side after 10 minutes.

After 20 minutes, remove the teabags and gently massage the eye are with a small amount of olive oil. The next morning wash your face as usual, then apply olive oil around your eye before applying makeup. Here the olive oil moisturizes the area and acts as a sunblock. Before stepping out don’t forget your sunglasses.

And that’s all the steps you need to follow to get gorgeous eyes. Remember if there is a pain associated with the redness of the eyes, then you need to see an optician. I hope these natural remedies work for you as well as they have worked for me. Save your money and use the cheap natural resources around you!
