Kenya meets Nigeria! Lupita Nyong’o Stuns in Maki Oh on Her ‘Homecoming Tour’!
It’s a beautiful combination as award-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o rocked several pieces from Nigerian designer Amaka Osakwe of Maki Oh‘s earlier collections on her ongoing ‘Homecoming Tour’ to Kenya.
This is the first trip back home since Lupita rocketed to A-List status in the American movie industry, and the heart of the trip back home is to save wild animals as she has been named a ‘Global Elephant Ambassador’.
Now back to fashion – Lupita rocked a few classic hand-painted and hand-dyed pieces from Maki Oh for her public outings. One was a silk satin scarf blouse paired with a silk cotton skirt for a mentorship event to talk about the importance of art; and the 2nd was a silk satin and velvet vest with silk cotton wide leg trousers to spearhead a campaign to end the slaughter of elephants for ivory.
