ARISE L’Afrique-À-Porter: Tiffany Amber
The night was full of many favorites and Folake Folarin-Coker‘s label Tiffany Amber was well-received by the French. Her collection contained mostly silk pieces, appealing strongly to Parisians love for simplicity, comfort and elegance. Tiffany Amber was able to pull off again what we love about its fashion: a strong focus on wearability while maintaining elements of mystery, style and ethnicity. Folake describes to BN who her collection is for, “A modern African princess spending a few days in Paris; attending meetings in the suit, going to the opera and having lunch with friends.” Tiffany Amber’s collection interprets the fall season with the use of a palette of fall foilage. One of my favorite details was the “jewelry” pieces of tie-dye fabric cut and rolled into necklaces. I found out that in an exciting and unprecedented collaboration between Nigerian designers, the necklaces were by ‘Ituen Basi for Tiffany Amber‘. Great to see our top designers working together. Great showing by Tiffany Amber.
