On Sunday night, the second live eviction show of M-Net’s Big Brother Amplified (DStv Channel 198) delivered yet more surprises as Namibia’s Jossy was sent home after receiving the fewest votes from Africa this week. Confidence, Vimbai, Vina and Weza returned to the ‘Heads’ house to continue with the game, while Ethiopia’s Danny was sent to the ‘Tails’ house. Botswana’s hip hop stars Vee and Scar had kicked off the show and set the bar for the evening high by delivering an electrifying performance!

On Monday 16th May 2011, The ‘Tails’ Housemates got their first taste of nominations on M-Net’s Big Brother Amplified after the ‘Heads’ Housemates took their turn last week.

Once everyone had their say including Head of House Miss P – Nkuli, Luclay, Mumba and Kim are up for eviction this Sunday.

· A tense Miss P made a last-minute decision to use her Head of House powers to save Karen – who had received the most nominations – and put Mumba up for eviction in her place.

· In a surprise decision, Luclay decided that he didn’t want to nominate anyone. Big Brother warned him that he could find himself evicted on Sunday, but Luclay said he was “fine with that”. His decision to not make a nomination means he is automatically up for eviction this Sunday.

· Alex nominated Karen and Nkuli, saying the two were his biggest threats. After Big Brother probed a little deeper, Alex said that even though Karen was fun, “she doesn’t participate in chores” and Nkuli “didn’t pull her weight during the last Task”.

· Bhoke was surprised when she discovered that it was nomination time and took a deep breath before choosing Karen and Nkuli. She nominated Karen because she finds the Nigerian “very defensive and attacking” and Nkuli because she hadn’t been close to her.

· Danny finally made his choice after ignoring Big Brother’s summons to the Chat Room as he cleaned the patio furniture. He nominated Karen because he believed she was a strong character. He then nominated Kim because he thought that viewers would vote for her because she is so entertaining.

· Despite having made peace with Luclay, Ernest nominated the South African because he felt that he would continue to bear a grudge and didn’t feel safe around him. His second nomination went to Karen because he feels she is too insecure, which made her dangerous.

· Karen dressed up specially for her first nomination session, before nominating Alex and Kim. She chose Alex because she felt she still didn’t know much about him and Kim because she didn’t know if she was fake or just taking time to ‘come out’.

· Lotus nominated Kim because she didn’t “gel with her” and her fellow Tanzanian Bhoke, in the hope that she would be left as the last Tanzanian standing, in the game.

· Kim unknowingly returned the favour by nominating Karen, saying that she was destructive and always in the way. Her second nomination went to Lotus, for her inability to listen and for talking too much.

· Mumba nominated Miss P because, as Head of House, she could save herself. Her second nomination went to Ernest, because he was “becoming too loud and irritating”.

· Nic nominated Lotus and Nkuli – the former because he hadn’t found any common ground with her even though they had kissed in the Jacuzzi and the latter because he felt she was too distant.

· Nkuli followed Mumba’s thinking in nominating Miss P, before nominating Bhoke because she felt the Tanzanian didn’t “add much value” to the House.

· Miss P had the final say in the nominations, picking Karen “because she takes everything lightly” and Nkuli because she feels the South African wouldn’t give her the time of day.

The winner of Big Brother Amplified, which is headline sponsored by Coca-Cola, will be named on 31 July, after 91 days of head-to-head competition – and the power to award to USD 200 000 prize rests in the hands of the viewers.
