After Tee Songz’ Shocking Exit, Who Will Grab the Glo Naija Sings Step Up Title?

After months of auditions and several weeks on the Glo Naija Sings main stage, the top 3 emerged on Sunday night as crowd favourite Tee Songz was voted off.

With the grand finale in sight, the Top 3 contestants sang their ‘all-time favorite’ songs this week on Glo Naija Sings.

Goodbye Tee Songz

Tee Songz Swan Song
Tee Songz says goodbye by singing R.Kelly’s “Gotham City”

1st Song:
Adele – Rolling In The Deep
Mattade, thumbs up for singing this very deep and emotional song from Adele but we couldn’t help but notice his bad pronunciation of the lyrics. With that said, his performance was passionate and the audience totally loved it!

2nd Song: Flying Without Wings by Ruben Studdard/ Westlife
Mattade delivered a solid performance. He started off a bit shaky but gained confidence as his performance progressed…he was rewarded with a standing ovation.

1st Song: The Corrs – Runaway
My mother always told me to beware of ladies in red and she was proved right when Vicky came on stage with a dazzling red dress as she sang the hit single “Runaway” by The Corrs, Vicky’s performance was superb.
Well done Girl!

2nd Song: Diana Ross – He Lives In You
We are all in Vicky’s world, this song is an all time favorite and we are so in love with her for pulling this off.

1st Song:
Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill – Turn Your Lights Down Low
Christian got his Fally Ipupa on by winding his waist in his Ankara pants while performing this chart topping song, he had fun with his performance.

2nd Song:
Enrique Iglesias – Hero
Finally Christian really went out his comfort zone and delivered a strong performance.
We noted that Christian has several celeb friends including Nollywood actor, Francis Duru! We are sure this star backing will help his voting numbers.

Cool FM’s radio sensation Valerie was this week’s guest judge, she noted that all the contestants started off slow but picked up the pace. According to Valerie, it will be very hard to choose a winner as the final 3 lineup is very strong!

Olisa Adibua
In-house judge Olisa Adibua was very positive this week. Olisa commended Christian’s performance and also had cheerful words for Mattade as well. According to Olisa, Mattade finally justified why he was brought to Lagos for the final 10 and he advised him to use the microphone stand while on stage because without it he looks awkward.

To Vicky he said “my vocabulary is out of superlatives to describe your performance“.

Onyeka Onwenu
Nigeria’s Lady of Songs, Onyeka Onwenu said there were no lowlights for her.
She said Mattade really improved because of the feedback from his last performance, and said she enjoyed Christian’s performance. When it came to giving her final verdict on Vicky, Onyeka wasted no time in saying ” Let a woman win this competition”, she said she has fallen in love with Vicky’s spirit calling it “A beautiful spirit” and finally wished everyone of them the best!

Ohhhh, so my Tee Songz is gone. After much said and done. I was never his fan at the beginning because he didn’t qualify so much vocally as compared to the other contestants. But did he carry the crowd along? Oh yes he did! And when he did that “Sisi Eko” it was just done for me. Ok, let’s hope Mattade ups his game as per carry me along with his stage and charm if not Vicky’s definitely going home with the prize no thanks to her amazing voice and superb qualities but i was considering Mattade since him being a “fine boy’ na. No probs! Goodluck to the rest of the contestants. I wish u all well!

I really wish Vicky all the best, but with Christian there and Mattade stepping up his game, can’t say for sure who it’s going to be. All the best to Vicky tho.

Who cares who wins it? For your information, no one on DSTV is following this crappy show cos we are all glued to the x-factor! I wonder where and how u guys picked ur contestants? They all sing like its a karaoke competition and wont even make thru the prelims of any intl competition. Its really sad when u see artistes that need help with their musical careers seated on the judges table judging the contestants! We have intl acts like Asa, Sade Adu, Wale,Taio Cruz….these pple are Nigerians holding their own abroad…why not use them as judges? It will be a cold day in hell before i’ll be caught watching this fiasco u guys call a singing competition. Abi shey as the glo naija sings organisers dey watch xfactor dem no dey shame?
