Probably the worst red (black) carpet I’ve ever seen. But of course, the ubiquitous Efe Tommy, his belt and Vixen will never skip an event even if they had the flu. All I can say is to those who actually dressed well, which I don’t need to mention cos they are so few and obvious, what a waste of outfit!

    December 21, 2011 at 10:24 pm

This place looks tacky. What is with all the colors? I do not live in naija but visit often enough to know that we are lacking a genuine sense of creativity.
Another thing that bugs me is, I go a hair salon to make my hair in a relaxing environment where if I want to I can read a book. The colors here even from photos are giving me a headache. Good luck, I guess there are customers for every business.

Genevieve looks stunning. Alot of fat/chubby people here who are not dressing appropriate for their bodies

There is something called over exposure. In recent pics she even looks tired. I just wonder a times.

Nigerian women and weave??? i give up.
    Efe Tommy??? SMH

  64. ruru

    December 22, 2011 at 12:51 pm

Firstly….Hair Ltd is 5 years old…Just relocated to another site. Secondly…the colours are the brand…talking about branding am sure it caught your eyes..(that was the whole ideal) thirdly, Genny came from the wedding which was a few minutes away. Fourthly, Congrat Rita Idehen for creating employment, its not easy to put up such a venture with over 20 staff…You deserve a federal recognition.

  65. temmy

    December 22, 2011 at 1:17 pm

I dont blive that some of u still dont understand the simple fact that genny is wearing same dress cos the event was on same spot(Island) with Akis wedding and same day,so she had to run out to catch up with this black carpet.Peeps think well now, How d’u expect her to change?*SMH*

  66. Dee-USA

    December 22, 2011 at 2:26 pm

I’m not sure why Bella Naija won’t post my comment, considering I’m reading worse. But just to comment about the Genevieve backlash. I think some of you are seriously tripping if you expect her to change. She’s about the only Naija female celebrity that gets it right every time, yet you want more. You can see she wasn’t on the red carpet or anything. She probably just stopped for a quick moment en route to the reception, and you expect her to change? Why? You’re the reason people are aristocrating for money. So she can’t wear an outfit twice because she’s obligated to give you guys a new outfit every time she steps out.

Meanwhile, if you think Genevieve is overexposed, what would you say about everyone else here? She rarely makes red carpets these days. Just because she does three or four events in one week, you think she RSVPs to every event? Should I name drop 50 names I’ve seen multiple times at various events she wasn’t at? And I don’t even know who these people are.

why all these noise about genny, she is a simple girl from a humble background, sponsoring her retired Engineer-dad and teacher-mom, her daughter plus 7 siblings (mind u, her parents and mine are friends). Why can’t she repeat cloths before passing it on?*@$!**$ It’s b/c of too much expectations from all of you she aristocrats for money. (I have inside info mind you, my hubby works for Goodluck & co.)

    • L.A Chick

      December 23, 2011 at 11:29 am

      Dotty Love,

Thanks for “sharing your inside information.” Nawao, you are such a model of generosity!! Your family is friend with Gene’s family abi? I guess unlike your family you’re not a friend of hers otherwise you wouldn’t share this on a forum. However, if you are indeed Gene’s friend, she definitely has no need for enemies! I’m just saying…

  69. Dotty Love

    December 22, 2011 at 9:14 pm

…….and mind you, dats a wig she’s got on (hisses0. Why can’t Naija ladys do without all these ‘wanna-look-like-a-chinese/white lady” hair do. That’s why I love Kate Hensaw, all others……Na real wahhhh!!!!!Abeg dont crucify me ohhh! Just sharing my opinion!!!

    • Tola

      December 23, 2011 at 12:06 pm

MY GOD!!! I don’t know anything about Genevieve or claim to know her entire family but I was at the same salon in VI the day she fixed that hair. So NO it is not a wig. And that only proves to me personally that you are telling lies on someone you don’t know. And if you actually do know her then it’s even worse and the shame is on you.

In my humble opinion, the interior design of this beauty parlor is “au point” and not tacky at all. It’s fun, vibrant,  colorful and eclectic just like Nigeria! 🙂 As a woman, I go to my hair stylist not just to do my hair but also to have fun; I don’t need a cold, minimalist decor to end up  looking like Victoria Beckham sitting next to a runaway with a pout on my face (I love her dress sense BTW)

Has it occurred to any of the Gen-Appearance critics that mayhaps, Gen has a relationship with some of the celebrants, that traverses your myopic definition of what is appropriate, and what isn’t? That even when she is inclined to sit an event out, sometimes out of sheer weariness with the endless jabberings from ignorant and idle “commentators” , she cannot do so, lest the invitee be disappointed? Sometimes she is endorsing brands, and it is duty, regardless of her personal preferences. She made an effort to be at two functions on the same day, yet you sit on disgruntled podiums of hypocrisy and mutter. Her dress this. Her dress that. It would be wise to get a life, while you still can, it is a definite cure for boredom… I_MUSTO_COMMENT. Hissssss.

@ Backlash, now you commenting does it not simply say u too are “I MUST TO COMMENT”. Anyway I don’t think there is anything wrong in wanting to know if she actually wore the dress 2days straight OK. Cos i dont think wearing a dress 2days in a row is appropriate considering personal hygiene and all especially when it even has to do with a “CELEB”. Well BN has clarified, reception was on same day as the hair ltd occassion. So hushhhhhhhh with your “BAD MOUTH”

Nice one, Rita. If you haven’t noticed, haters this is Africa where we love vibrant colours and OTT. If you want minimalism go to Scandanavia and while you’re there try creating employment that Africans badly need instead of ahting on those who do. I musto comment, for real.

Other than that, loving Louise, Marrifa and Tundun, mothers of one and two who still look the same. When I drop, I had better bounce back!

Bon marche et bon affaire, yes but as the business moves forward more rooms need to be created for men’s fashion that includes salon for hair cut and so forth. I believe that will help for sustainability per gaining more pies of market share.
