Loveline Obiji wins Team Nigeria’s 5th Gold Medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games!
We are so proud of our Nigerian athletes at the London 2012 Paralympic Games who are increasing the country’s medal tally and breaking new grounds in sports.
Nigeria’s 82.50kg power-lifter, Loveline Obiji yesterday clinched the fifth gold medal for Team Nigeria. Her final lift of 145kg was 10kg less than the world and Paralympic record but enough to beat all opposition to pick the gold medal.
Loveline Obiji became the fourth Nigerian woman to claim gold at the Paralympic Games.
Her effort means Nigeria now has five gold, five silver one bronze medal, and is 12th position on the medals table.
Well done Loveline, well done Team Nigeria!

The ‘able bodied’ athletes we sent to the Olympics should learn a thing or two from the Paralympics team….. So dedicated and will despite their condition

what the *abled* have failed to do, the *disabled* are doing nd doing very well. Now, “how dare anybody call them disabled again”.
For this effort, the govt should look into developing infrastructure that will enable them live normal lives. They too have beautiful talents as we can see. #GodIsAwesome

Good job, Loveline and Team Nigeria.
But folks our words keep getting more toxic by the day- the way we lash out and cheer at the same time is legendary. I believe it is important to be respectful to people in criticism and in commendation.
Words are us.
huh?

Well done. This group of athletes are obviously better trained and more focused than the ‘regular olympics’ contingent.
