The Making Returns – 10 Designers, 10 Lookbooks, One Winner!

The Making – A fashion and photography project initiated in 2011 is back for a second season after a successful premier edition.

The project provided visibility for unknown creative designers and opened up distribution and retailing channels for their brands. The designers featured – Xenia Ejidike (Ozora by Xee) and Bubu Ogisu (Iamisigo) were shortlisted for the MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week under the Young Designers of the Year Award while Tobi Martins (Prima Rouge) and Olatide Adeniyi (Editalo) showcased their works at the AFW London and AFW New York respectively and model, Adedamola Cruz was crowned Best Model of the World (Africa).

It was definitely an unforgettable experience with some of the leading professionals in the industry such as Omoyemi Akerele (StyleHouseFiles), Mai Atafo, Lisa Folawiyo (Jewel by Lisa), Mobowale Biobaku (Mobos), Ezinne Chinkata and Saze Osayande sharing their wealth of experience with the young talents.

For its second edition, The Making will screen 30 designers and 10 will be chosen to have their collections photographed and featured in Nigeria’s top fashion magazines, websites and TV Stations. At the end of the season, one out of the 10 designers will walk away with cash prize as well as retail and sponsorship contracts.
