Must See Looks
Nigerian songstress Waje hit the 2012 MMR black carpet in a floor length dark green long sleeve dress with a thigh high slit. The I Wish singer, who is starring in a movie alongside Nse Ikpe-Etim, accessorized with drop earrings, a gold belt and shoes. A sleek packed hair completed her look.
What’s not to love about Eku Edewor’s printed-trousers suit? Printed suits are a big trend on the pre-fall 2013-2014 runway shows. Looking very much like a fashionista in this outfit, the Studio 53 Extra co-host let her blond locks down and opted for minimal make-up. She accessorized with black heels, a gold wrist watch and a fancy brown tote.
More of this look in 2013 Eku.
Ugonna Omeruo stunned on the 2012 MMR black carpet in a graphic blue print midi dress. The Nigerian designer accessorized her outfit with a black fascinator with pink feathers, a pink clutch and black pumps. Some of you may say this outfit would be more appropriate for a Polo match but Ugonna was simply telling us it was a music and FASHION event.
Is it just us or this is Efya‘s best look yet. The Ghanaian sensation arrived at the 2012 MMR red carpet in red elbow-sleeve top with a long print skirt which features a slit. We love the way she added an edge to the dress by opting for gold-fringed earrings and a pair of gold and black metallic heels.
Call us crazy but Genevieve Nnaji‘s one-shoulder print dress is one of our favourite looks on the 2012 MMR black carpet. Sporting an afro, the 33 year old Nollywood star accessorized with gold hoop earrings, silver bracelets, a Chanel clutch – (Yes Chanel, no need to roll your eyes) – and a pair of dark blue pumps.
Femi Atilade arrived at the 2012 MMR in a red flared mini dress. She accessorized the dress which features a plunging neckline covered with sheer yoke, with diamond drop earrings, a gold spiked belt, gold bracelet, an embellished clutch and studded red heels.
What’s your take on her risque dress? Red Hot or Red Not
So you’re probably wondering why Dammy Krane made this must see look list? Our reason is simply because he’s sporting the same shades Burna Boy is always seen wearing. Plus don’t you just like his colorful shirt.
Toni Tones was also one to see on the 2012 MMR black carpet. The celebrity photographer/Mavinbot known for her racy dress choices (Taking cue from the FAB Night Out) donned a very edgy black dress featuring a cut-out in the hip area. She accessorized with a gold necklace and ring. Her bangs and yellow pumps did her look justice.
Fashion designer Toyin Lawani rocked a black leather long sleeve dress to the 2012 MMR but it’s her statement neck piece that makes this look a must see. Diamond stud earrings, a gold ring and pair of red peep-toes completed her fierce look.
Wunmi Bakare‘s indigo top and matching skirt with floral print detail is also a must see look. She accessorized her dress with drop earrings, gold earrings and bracelets.
Tolu Onabanjo looked uber cute in a tri-coloured (pink, blue and orange)lace mini-dress. She accessorized with an orange clutch, a light brown bow-tie heels and a statement gold neck piece that went well with her wavy locks.
This MMR guest was draped in a leopard print long sleeve floor length dress, this lady accessorized her outfit with pink statement necklace and ring, gold earrings and ivory clutch. We also like that she opted for a sleek up-do.
Who’s this girl? Rocking a midi light brown dress, this 2012 MMR black carpet stunner accessorized with a pair of red pumps and gold wrist watch. She kept the look young and fresh with her pixie hair cut.
Can anyone please identify these two girls and tell them that BellaNaija Style says they look great.
#Music Star Style
They rock the airwaves and at the 2012 MMR, they showed us why they are some of the biggest stars in the Nigerian music industry.
Rocking that LBD
TV presenter Yvonne ‘Vixen” Ekwere brought her inner Rock and Roll persona to the 2012 MMR black carpet in an edgy black mini dress. She accessorized with gold necklace, bracelets, rings and peep-toe sandals.
Media personality Toke Makinwa was also one to see. Also spotted in a black mini dress, she accessorized with gold hoop earrings and a zebra clutch and shoes. We are guessing for her hair, she had the famous Disney movie line “Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair” in mind, right?
Pop of Colors
Ok we have to admit there are so many colours going on with Temi Dollface’s outfit. We have purple, yellow, green, orange and black but we like the pop of colors combination. Her pink floral sandals completed her look.
TV presenter Stephanie Coker’s canary yellow long sleeve dress was a sure delight on the black carpet. She accessorized with a silver statement neckpiece and earring. We really wish she opted for a pair of red pumps for a more fierce pop of colour look rather than her cream pumps.
Elohor Aisien opted for a blue long sleeve wrap dress. Her colorful outfit was accessorized with a silver bracelet, an ivory clutch and purple peep-toes .
Fashion writer Fatima Garba’s orange print dress also added a pop of colour to the black carpet. She accessorized with gold earrings and red shoes.
We spotted a lot of red dresses on the 2012 MMR black carpet but her shade was the good definition of pop of colour.
All about the Legs
E.M.E’s first lady, Niyola wore a polka dot long sleeve dress that clearly showed her legs.
Blogger Linda Ikeji wore a double slit green halter neck dress to flaunt her legs. She accessorized with cream pumps.
Inspired by the Wildlife
Tracy Nwapa arrived on the 2012 MMR black carpet in a leopard print top and red skirt. She pulled her hair back and accessorized with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels, a gold bracelet and bag.
Jacob’s Cross star Kendra Etufunwa also rocked a leopard print dress. The long dress featuring side cut-outs, was accessorized with a gold necklace, lots of bracelets, a black bag and brown pumps.
Aisha Shaba was also feeling the animal spirit by opting for a snake skin dress which she accessorized with gold hoop earrings and green peep-toes.
Sartorial Gents
Co-host of the event D’banj looked dapper in black suit.
Fashion designer Ohimai Atafo was spotted in a check suit, which we are guessing it’s from his menswear collection.
Dapper in a rich dark blue suit, this gentleman was one of the best dressed males. We’re guessing he is in touch with his feminine side as he opted for a gold brooch and black clutch.
Shine Bright like a Sequin
On-air-presenter Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi wore a purple sequined dress which she paired with dark purple clutch and black pumps.
Awww… We like how this Twin sisters rocked the same sequined dress in different colours – Purple and blue.
Coupled Up
Comedian AY Makun and his wife, Mabel arrived in a matchy-matchy white style to the 2012 MMR event. AY went head-to-toe white while his better half opted for a black and white striped top.
Need we say more about this couple? Don’t you just love her pose.
This has to be one of the cutest twosome at the 2012 MMR event. They both wore matching leopard shoes. If this isn’t love, I don’t know what is.

What do you think? Trend Alert
Personally I think the only guy who can rock Khaki pants well is Kanye West. At the 2012 MMR carpet this gent opted for the famous pants. His look was completed with a sweater, shades and brown shoes. What do you think of his look?
Well design labels like Ermenegildo Zegna, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton and Burberry all presented their latest 2013 Fall/Winter) menswear collections with man handbags. Our style team has spotted a few celebrities including TV star Efe Tommy embracing the trend and at the 2012 MMR this man spotted in Ankara pants, black round neck shirt and a tribal cap, also carried a man hand bag.
So, Yay or Nay to this trend?
PR Executive Moriam Musa looked casual fab in her white top and red pants but it was her head accessory that got the BN style team talking. We all know pregnant TV star Kim Kardashian and Naeto C’s wife Nicole Chukwueke both head pieces on their wedding days but do you think it is a trend for our everyday lives?
