So where’s the song? “i love my country, I no go lie…i love my country’. She didn’t even sing. I don’t get. I wouldn’t have listened to the song if not for the caption….Otedola’s daughter, I was expecting to be bedazzled, I don’t know why. The person that said ‘we have a David Guetta’ in the making, nice one Cuppy’….Nna, why are you telling a lie nau? Did you watch the beatz video (sorry, music video)? or are you just trying to Famz? (no offence please!)
Bottomline, Cuppy you have good beatz, add more lyrics to this song, and please, SING (it is your song) edit the video because it doesn’t really reflect the Title. With a title like ‘I love my country’, (and with Wole Soyinka as composer) the expectation will be high. If you had called it ‘Cuppy’s Beatz Party’, maybe it’d have been different

the vid reflects the song well enough. she’s not a singer so why would she sing abi David guetta dey sing for vids?

    • Babs

      July 9, 2013 at 9:32 pm

Err…does David Guetta sing much in his videos? Do you even know who David Guetta is?!!!

    • smh

      July 9, 2013 at 10:27 pm

He is a DJ, song writer, composer and producer not a singer he does the writing and production while someone sings it you – don’t compare same with Calvin Harris and yes i know who he is…

Next thing they will say that this is the new song to rebrand Nigeria…..

  12. hmm

    July 9, 2013 at 11:09 am

I like it ..but im wondering why people are saying this is nice ..yet criticized tonto dike for doing the same genre …is it the name?

Which country is she referring to? The one her father is stealing blindly from, or the one they have run to, to spend Nigeria’s money? Either way, the song is not telling the truth. If she loves her country, assuming it is Nigeria, she will force her father to stop the theft! Otherwise, this one na story.

I was thinking those very same thoughts and then I read your comment….

    • Jay

      July 9, 2013 at 2:09 pm

My goodness!!!! Seriously??? How do you know her father has been stealing???? Wat has her father got to do with the nice beats she just produced. Give a constructive critism & move on. my Gosh!!!! My people linger in poverty of knowledge. So consumed by anger & hatred that they fail to see the good in anything. Am very sorry for who you’ve become.

      July 9, 2013 at 11:36 pm

Speak for yourself. How is she your people? An she I’d offer constructive criticism in the form that her father stop stealing. The light crisis in Nigeria is because of her father. His wealth is dependent on our use of diesel. If we all have constant electricity, his wealth will diminish. Do your research instead of showing your version of poverty of knowledge.

Thank you! This is a very unique song with European techno style to it .. dis is her style “her Brand” .. & i love it .. this is what people dance to in europe .. you dance and jump to a beat not the words .. ignorant people! Carry on girl!

Cuppy did not copy well oh! Money miss road certainly. This is absolute rubbish! She hasn’t even done anything other than parade her nude buddies. The only culture represented here is Lagos; does Lagos constitute ‘My Country’. She should concentrate on being DJ.

    Nice beat…

@IdonChopdeyLookfortrouble, I will leave with the same advice I give to EVERY Nigeria: start with the man in the mirror.

I haven’t watched the video but for those saying ‘money miss road’, if her surname was not ‘Otedola’ would the comment be the same?

Let’s be careful not to slay people with our bias

Nice tunes…duh she isn’t like a vocalist. Although I do hate when people say “I love my COUNTRY”, and all they really mean is LAGOS because that’s all they really know. Why not just sing a song about Lagos?

My Question: What exactly did Wole Soyinka write? Those 2 lines?!!!

    July 9, 2013 at 7:22 pm

Wait oh….did Wole Soyinka really come up with those lyrics???? *dies* also i dont get how you will love your country and just feature LAGOS in the music video. Kai this Video is a waste of money and precious time. #okbye#

True artistry! She’s not singing because she doesn’t sing, she makes beats. Sadly I don’t think Nigeria is ready for this kind of music though.

    July 10, 2013 at 7:55 am

This girls father is RICH! plz she should stop this! she does not have musical talent she should let others with talent do their thing! i just hope rich and talentless kids wunt come and block the music industry! atleast DAVIDO has some talent. but this sucks

    July 10, 2013 at 8:03 am

@Damsel… You are indeed a Toad. What is famzing here? That i said she is a David Guetta in the making, doesnt mean she is indeed there. What does David Guetta do, as a DJ and Producer? Create beats for singers isnt it? This lady right here is doing just that. This ia a sample beat , which a singer, if interested can use to add more lyrics to, if they want. Or an interlude for club jamz. Read up and stop suffering from poverty of the mind. Just because you cannot live out your passions. Coming out here, to spew dust. Thanks to others, who see the creative vision. Though not yet top notch! Kai Nigerians, as you hear say na otedola daughter, hate everywhere…. Bella pls post my epistle !

This is Billionaire Femi Otedola’s first child Olawunmi Christine Otedola singing. Should we then agree that it runs in the family.

To those of you who do not know Ifeoluwa is not the child Olayinka is looking for, and for your information , she’s already in contact with her daughter and everyone is happy, so please stop calling Femi names, whatever happened in the past can be referred to as destiny which can never be changed. There’s no one in this life that does not have one or two story to tell. So let the sleeping dogs lie and please give Femi the full respect he deserves. Thanks

Nigerians are just narrow minded and into noise. Open your minds up to the broder genres of music out there and then you’ll realize this is actually a nice track, has international appeal and you can definitely listen to it in 10 years, try that with alingo or the other tracks you guys steadily hail. Endoff#

    July 17, 2013 at 3:08 am

It soooooooooooo obvious you are the daughter of Femi Otedola. Not the “Cuppy” one. You’re Olawunmi Christine. My advice: Stay off the comments section of posts relating to your dad. You’d only ALWAYS see things that would break your heart.

    August 1, 2013 at 10:22 pm

Lol.. It’s called EDM music. Or house or techno. Electro. That’s the genre. and there are so few nigerian dj’s into it. But here she is,making a sound so admirable. Generally,it’s a sound with a beat, and a repeatetive hook,as you heard in her song, and a series of well-organised loops.

That’s the genre for you. And it’s a great thing for our country. It’s something to be proud of. with the right encouragement, she could be a guetta, benassi, kaskade of africa. Even better than them. So give it up to her. She got everything right. it’s her first track ever, and it’s so great!!! Naaahh.. She’s on point!!
