Ghanaian design label N’Kya Designs launched in 2011 by Sheila Boateng, and this year with its Ohemaa collection, the label is dubbing every woman a queen.
The collection was first showcased at London Fashion Week in February 2013 and according to the label, ‘Ohemaa’ means ‘Queen’ in the Ghanaian language ”Twi”. The collection is strongly influenced by the ‘Obaa’ collection and is inspired by the qualities of a woman and is a reflection of the N’kya woman and the qualities she exudes.
In the lookbook, the models are draped in sexy satin and kente material dresses with small cut outs and frills. Check out the lookbook.
