Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde in Iconic Invanity & Genevieve Nnaji in Bridget Awosika on Day 3 of the GTBank LFDW

Fashion Week is never complete without superstars in attendance.

On Day 3 of the 2013 GTBank Lagos Fashion & Design Week which took place from Wednesday 23rd October 2013 to Saturday 26th October 2013 at Ocean View, Victoria Island, Lagos, our BN Glam Cam spotted Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji.

They were present at the anticipated fashion week to support some of their favourite designers.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde - October 2013 - BellaNaija

After vacationing with her cute clan in Italy and the UK from August to September, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde made a stylish return to the red carpet. (click here and here to see vacation photos)

On Day 3 of the fashion show, she showed support for one of her favourite designers Iconic Invanity. The brand is responsible for some of Omosexy’s amazing red carpet looks.

And on this occasion, this look makes the list. Proving that she is very much a superstar, she was given a look from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection that was displayed that evening.

The blue velvet long dress with long sleeves showcased on the runway was slightly modified for her. The sleeves were three-quarter and the hem was slightly below her knees. She styled the look with silver drop earrings, a blue clutch and blue heels.

Wavy dark locks and pink lipstick completed the look.

Genevieve Nnaji in Bridget Awosika - October 2013 - BellaNaija

We missed a special red carpet moment from Genevieve Nnaji when she couldn’t make it to the BFI London Film Festival Premiere of Half of a Yellow Sun because she was down with the flu.

But we were delighted to spot her on the red carpet on Day 3 of the GTBank Lagos Fashion & Design Week. Genevieve was there to view the recent collection from Bridget Awosika – the brand she wore to the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in March. (click here to see)

She chose a beautiful yellow chiffon dress by the brand.

The spaghetti strap dress which was displayed at the 2012 MTN Lagos Fashion and Design Week, was showcased with a silk silver material.

She styled the rise-and-fall hem dress with gold stud earrings, a black clutch, a gold wrist watch and a pair of yellow neon heels. Wavy locks and a neutral pout completed the look.

Keep refreshing for more looks from Day 3 of the fashion show.

That dress is just wrong for Omotola. Even her boobs do not align; one is so up and the other down (like a diagonal bow-tie). The ’round’ of her stomach is pronounced plus velvet make fat people look fatter and heavy people heavier.

There’s something about her shoes I don’t like.

Genevieve’s thighs and legs need exfoliation.

There is something very wrong with people who find fault in everything! The dress is ok, the dress looks alright, could be a little shorter but overall its lovely. What alot of people don’t understand is that there are different grades of velvet. The velvet used here seems to be silk velvet, it is very light in weight and has a sheen. It’s not sold in Nigeria so I’m guessing it was most likely sourced in the UK, or Paris.

    Omotola – NO!
    Genevieve – YES!

And I don’t care about who is the queen actress, but the dress Omotola wore is terribly ill-fitting.

Na na na! Omotola looks horrid in that dress! she’s too curvy for it, and except your wearing it as a wrapper, velvet is never a good idea for plus size people. her bobs really do look misaligned and her feet look like overstuffed sausages in those shoes. Genevieve isn’t bad but i think she should have worn different shoes. open toed sandals, as worn on the runway, would have been better.

Omotola is too fine for this -. This – is so wrong. Someone please save this woman’s fashion sense because she cannot dress to save her life. Why are people deceiving her that she looks nice & stylish in these Iconic Invanity pieces? There are other beautiful designs that will make Omotola look like the star that she is. This brand is clearly supplying her with free pieces to promote the line (which is O.K because she’s an important celebrity). However, the designs always look like they were created by a drunk person. All I’m getting from this clothing line/ or whoever is behind the designs are- lack of direction & lack of education on female body types and kinds of fabric. Only a client with a poor taste in clothes/style will want to be associated with this tomfoolery.

Genevieve’s shoes are not appropriate for that dress. She looks gorgeous but those shoes are a critical phuck up.

Wow just look at all these wannabe fashion critic/haters. It is ok if you dont like the designs and give constructive criticism on how to improve but this is outright hatred. How can you demean or rubbish someones work so much? What have you done? Not everyone would like like everything

      October 30, 2013 at 10:06 am

Wow!! Can’t believe you said all that above about Iconic Vanity. Wonders!! Guaranteed the dress isn’t properly fitted on Omotola and not right for her body type that doesn’t mean you should run down an entire brand. Haba!! 🙁

    • Vee

      October 30, 2013 at 11:01 am

What??? You’re actually the drunk one here. Iconic Invanity has created some really amazing pieces. What are you on about?
Omotola is a beautiful woman but this dress is not for her.

    • Dami

      November 3, 2013 at 9:03 am

You are definitely drunk! you sound like an ignorant fool.
Iconic Invanity is a Nigerian brands that is being recognised
internationally for their good work. You should be proud that we
have some wonderful women who are making something good out their
lives. What exactly is your own contribution to your society other
than trying to bring people who are doing something tangible down?
So because the dress is not perfect for omotola (which i agree,
could be better) means you can just rubbish someone’s entire work?
Next time do your research before you start writing rubbish, you
can start by googling, if at all you know how to do

    • Amaka

      November 3, 2013 at 9:53 pm

Its only fair to give constructive criticism. I’m a fan of both ladies. Jenny looks ok but the shoes are a big no no. Omotola’s dress is beautiful but not suitable for her body type. The length should have been shorter as that length drags her down and after straining my eyes I could spot the uneven breasts. @diya, u sad hater, why lash out with so much venom throwing insults about? so you mean all the prominent women who wear iconic Invanity have poor taste in clothes and style? You better mind yourself before someone knocks your lights out. Smh

They both look good. Omotola looks amazing as usual . Has added abit probably from vacationing in ” Italy ” however she still looks elegant. She looked wayyyyy better in another picture I’ve seen of same event. Genny looks beautiful only bad styling with the shoes and leg area.

  18. Asaa

    October 30, 2013 at 9:57 am

Omotola looks a lot heavier now. i agree that the dress doesn’t suit her. Genevieve’s dress doesn’t look all that as well. The bust area is ill fitting. Looks like she isn’t wearing a good bra or she went braless. the dress look gorgeous on the model! Pretty sexy!

    October 30, 2013 at 11:57 am

The iconic dress is a lovely piece – just NOT for Omotolas shape. Simples. Yes we get it, she’s thick yet shapely but I really think that women with her body shape need to stay away from ‘figure hugging’ dresses and opt for dresses made pref. of lightweight fabrics with a little bit of room between the body and the dress. Let your shapewear do the hugging…

    October 30, 2013 at 12:03 pm

I have almost made myself blind trying to check the alignment of omotola’s breast and the roughness of genny’s skin. Biko, how una manage see all these things?

    • Iris

      October 30, 2013 at 4:50 pm

LMBAO I can actually see Omotola’s bust thing though I didn’t notice it at first, but I too require x-ray vision to spot the need for Genevieve’s exfoliation. I can’t even see the thighs sef, not to talk of dead skin cells. They could have done better in the outfit department though. Genevieve’s shoes are off and Omotola’s dress choice was also off.

    • JEWELZ

      October 31, 2013 at 9:45 am

Exactly Iris! I wonder what sort of lens this guys here have used to say that Genny needs exfoliation. Heh! People plz can’t you just shut up if you have nothing meaningful to say??!

i have to give this to genevieve. she looks sexy with the hair and dress. omotola needs to start going to the gym, beautiful face but she looks stuffed. and this is the worst iconic invanity dress i’ve seen, they are usually good.

  35. eesha

    October 30, 2013 at 1:13 pm

Nah OMO-T this particular iconic invanity piece doesn’t suit you at all or maybe its your body that’s too much for the dress. Genny could have worn another shoe color to tone down the bright yellow dress.

I am bored and tired of both of them, I mean granted 98 oercent of nollywood babes are Razz and mediocre actress es with no sense of style worth praising, are we going to keep recycling these only top 2 (or 3 if u include rita), 10 yrs from now. I am so bored and tired of both of them. And by the what is the greatest hit movie either of them has given us in the pass 2 yrs – just cos yall are good in acting and cute we have to wait 5 yrs to see one movie abi?

I Love them two women! I love both of them, I love them, I love them. I do not like the dress on Omotola, it is not for her body type. Gevevieve looks just ok in hers, but I don’t like the shoes. Did I mention that I love Omotola and Genevieve? Yah I love them both.

Now my piece, Iconic Ivanity and Ejiro Tafiri Amos, dont know if i typed their names right, are 2 designers I know i’ll rock their pieces for my 50th by God’s grace, both of them clothe OMOT and i always love their pieces, for the fact that Iconic didnt get this right does not mean she’s bad, that woman is creative; forget mistakes!

This dress should v bn left at the longer version for OMOT and sometimes when a dress is too tight,it may stuff up d wearer and make one look like overstuffed penguin and extra ordinarily fat, if the dress had been appropriate, we wld not have even noticed d flabby side all r pointing to!

As for Genny, her knees down needs help, serious scrub and exfo truly, akrika legs in this age and time is so out of fashion and for a celeb like her, buying better cream and scrub shd not be her problem!

bottom line, they r both beautiful women!

Genny darling, are you preggers? First the “flu” in London, and now this gown that would be such a perfect way to hide a little bump. Plus, you do look a little off,… you were too tired to take care of yourself. I mean your hair, make-up. I mean, this is totally unlike you, and I’m such a fan. You didn’t even bother about your shoes! All the same, you’re still lovely. Omosexy dearest, what can I say? For your type of shape, which is similar to mine right now (I, too have the much pronounced hips and bumpy derriere. My daughter calls it “mom’s slopes”)…..sorry,T.M.I. Anyway, the trick is to wear something flowy, with lots of fabric, that will make you look regal. Our hips and “slopes” tend to pull up all the fabric if the outfit is tight. Dont just go with the trend. Pick a few things that are in, and create your personal stye. When rightly dressed, your shape makes you look effortlessly sexy and graceful. Keep the flag flying.

genny does not have any match in nollywood when it comes to dress sense. genny is more of hollywood.

omotola is not only fat but look hindious. she is too bigggg. the dress is a no no for a person of her size.

    November 12, 2013 at 11:07 pm

omotola is everly pretty, but that designer her self ,does nt know her job……Genny is smart too but her shoe does nt really suite. Both still remain the best..L

    November 12, 2013 at 11:10 pm

Omotola is everly splendid……dresss or no dress; though d designer is an appology. Genny is smart too but her shoe is off..both stil rocked my world.

  50. Yep i said it, bite me

    November 28, 2013 at 4:41 pm

Must you pay a compliment when it is obvious even to a blind man that a person is poorly dressed? Is Omotola beautiful? Yes. Was she properly dressed … Erm nooo Epic fail on this one. That doesnt take out the fact she is a star. Nice one Miss Nnaji she rocked it well like the model on the runway but the shoes, wrong choice IMO
