You are invited to the opening night of Muse, a 35-piece exhibition of portraits giving an insight into the mind of the artist Lakin Ogunbanwo and his visual interpretations of his subjects; a juxtaposition between highly stylized imagery and a subtle raw, moody imagery. This exhibition is about capturing beauty, or one’s idea of it. Portraits by Lakin Ogunbanwo
Nigerian artist and photographer Lakin Ogunbanwo will light up South Africa with his solo art exhibition tagged “Portraits”. The event kicked off on Wednesday 20th November 2013. In “Portraits”, Lakin Ogunbanwo constructs singular images, reconfiguring the human figure and challenging some preconceived ideas of portraiture, of Lagosians, of Nigerians, of Africans. It will be his first solo show in South Africa.

Autism Awareness Campaign Series
To advance awareness campaign for Autism in Nigeria, Pure Souls Learning Foundation and Derwin Productions in collaboration with Patrick Speech and Languages Centre have created a short film to raise awareness of Autism. This “Autism Awareness Campaign Short Film” stars Akpororo, Omoye Uzamere (Brownie), Danielle Oboba and Anietie Enime. It was directed by Doyin Akinlade and produced by Dotun Akande and Grace Edwin-Okon. The launch of the film will take place at the “Talent in Autism Show”, a yearly event aimed at showcasing the gifts and the hidden talents in the children, as well as adults living with Autism in Nigeria. After the launch, the short film will then be launched online.
