Beauty Do's , Dont's and Duhs with LilPumpkinPie05 - BellaNaija - February001

Hi BN Beauty Belles!

It’s Friday right? Time to get the party started! But before you start planning your #TurntUpWeekend, we have got some tips to help out with your beauty for the weekend ahead; and practically the rest of your lives.

As black as you are, what are you doing with red lipstick?“, “The more the shine in your eyeshadow, the better the outcome“, “Blushes are not for women of colour” – Any of those sound familiar? We know they do.

To kick some of those beauty misconceptions to the curb we give you Youtube Beauty sensation Jackie Aina a.k.a LilPumpkinPie05.

Today she is going to be letting us in on some beauty secrets with her “Beauty Do’s, Dont’s and Duhs for Women of Colour” video in collaboration with I Love Makeup. You will get to find out what type & colour of blush is perfect for your skin, how you can wear shimmery eyeshadow and, finally, if women of colour can wear bold makeup.

Check it out.

Great news for our beauty buffs, Jackie will be in Nigeria on Friday 21st February 2014 for a special Beauty Panel discussion organised by MyMakeupNG tagged “Beauty UnMasked” for the Social Media Week. This event, supported by BellaNaija & NdaniTV, will also have Jennifer Obiuwevbi (BellaNaija Beauty), Chidinma Umeh (ThatIgboChick), Ezinne Alpha (Beauty in Lagos), Theodora Mogo (Doranne Beauty), Tayo Sojebe (My Makeup NG Co-Founder), Bukky Kinoshi (My Makeup NG Co-Founder) Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi (OAP & CEO Speakerboxx) and Joyce Jacobs (Joyce Jacob Beauty) on the panel.

Jackie will also tutor a workshop the next day, Saturday 22nd February 2014 and you can attend.  To do that please visit www.socialmediaweek/blog/event/beautyunmasked and register. See you there.

I’m not a big fan of being referred to as an individual of colour. Why colour?
