Bella can you please interview the three VL ladies and ask them why they persist in using whiter than snow models? before anyone chops me raw I know they have a black model that they use, but she is also whiter than snow. In that whole london? they can’t find a good model black model? They should be able to afford one now that they have jacked up their prices and kept the sometimes appalling quality the same

LOOL!! Are you sure you are a genuine VL customer? Why does it matter that the model is white? Self-esteem issues? Her colour has NOTHING to do with anything. Nothing. P.s: The pictures are probably yarr!! The pieces are lovely, and I can’t wait to see what else they come up with.

I thoroughly agree with the point you make. Perhaps they feel as though the use of European models creates the illusion of a ‘premium’ brand. I honestly love the garments they make and have been a customer for a little while, I was delighted when I found out that the brains behind the brand were Nigerian. It made me proud to be black, and I say that loud.
To the person who challenged your comment I say: black people are so talented and creative but they do not always have the opportunities to go as far as the founders of VL so its a shame that on the platform they stand, VL do not celebrate their success and heritage with the use of BLACK models.
I find it funny to see fashion houses such as Burberry using ankara inspired garment on their runway and diminishing the ties it has to Africa then VL – headed by women of colour- almost do the same thing. RANT OVER!

Beautiful. Really. But how is it a diffusion label if its the same as the original?

If you actually look at the pieces you can see that they are different to the original brand Virgos Lounge. If you look even closer you can see that the price points are different, note the word affordable mentioned above. Facts ko, facts ni.

Lovely and more affordable. Black or white models, how is that a problem? They know what is best for their brand. The best brands have the most delicate fabrics, just follow the fabric care instruction and be ready to visit the dry cleaners.
