Fro-bulous! Kaliné is Fun & Funky for Kingdom’s “African Hairstyles” Campaign

Looking good Kalinè!

Straight from luxury street wear brand, Kingdom (from Caven+Etomi), they are putting African hairstyles on display, literally! With their High-Summer 2014 Ad Campaign titled “Hair“, the amazing illustrations by Nigerian photographer J.D Okhai Ojiekere, revered worldwide for his Hairstyle series, have been used as core inspiration.

J.D Okhai’s series entails a collection of over 1000+ recorded Nigerian hairstyles that rose to iconic status for their roles in documenting a key aspect of femininity in Africa.

For their “Hair” campaign, they have collaborated with the Nigerian Afro-Soul singer with hair to die for, Kaliné. Known for her signature afro, she was the perfect muse to channel this series’ mantra of celebrating African hair. We are in love with the popping pieces, the fun and eccentric ambiance of the shoot and can’t keep our mouth shut over that gorgeous head of hair!
