Yesterday, BN reported that Iranian youth had been arrested for appearing in their own version of Pharrell Williams‘ “Happy” video (if you missed this story click here).
Six youths were arrested, and about two have been released, TIME reports. However, the video’s director is reportedly still detained.
One of the people released wrote on his Instagram page, “Hi I’m back thank you @pharrell and everyone who cared about us love you all so much and missed you so much.”
Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, yesterday tweeted a statement that appeared to show support for the “Happy” dancers:
