Nkiru Sylvanus' The Voice - July 2014 - BellaNaija.com 01
After a long hiatus, actress Nkiru Sylvanus returns with “The Voice“.

The movie is a psychological thriller and there is still a mystery surrounding the shooting of the film.

If you recall in 2012, it was widely reported while Nkriu and her crew were shooting the move in Owerri, Imo, kidnappers stormed the location and took her and her lead actor Kenneth Okolie captive. They were kidnapped for days.

Coincidentally in the movie they were shooting, Kenneth kidnapped Nkiru and held her hostage. Until this day, not even the actress understands the coincidence.

On the incident, Nkiru says “We continued with the movie as I and Kenneth learnt something from our captors which was helpful to us in our role interpretation.”

The film is written and directed by Afe Olumowe and also stars Betty Njoku-Olumowe, Larry Briggs, Edwards Fom and Daniel Lloyd.

Official Synopsis

Sandy (Nkiru Sylvanus) had been told by a stranger named Jeremiah (Larry Briggs) that she will die in 90 days.

To prove that she will truly die, he tells her three unusual events will precede her death. They all happened the way the stranger told her.

On the 90th day, another stranger named Solonzo (Kenneth Okolie) turns up and wants her money and may be her life. So he kidnaps her and holds her hostage until he could assess the 10 million naira check she had given him.

Would she have the wisdom to live with him and would he have the patience to keep her alive? It is just 5pm, they have till 12 midnight of the 90th day to decide that.

The Voice will premiere on Sunday 13th July 2014 at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos. Red carpet begins at 5 PM, while the film screening kicks off at 7 PM.

It looks like the movie will be interesting. At least, it is not the usual Nollywood RUNS movie where Mercy Johnson sleeps with the governor or Tonto Dike sleeps with her father.

Good Lord! Is that Nkeiru Sylvanus’ face on the poster? Whatever happened to her?

Ok, just seen the trailer. They must have done something weird to the picture. She still looks the same, actually better than I remember her from her “crying specialist” days on Nigerian home videos back in the day.
