    • Dee

      August 18, 2014 at 1:27 pm

Exactly my point. One he didn’t complete the challenge, second I was wondering who nominated him too, third, he nominated the entire universe instead of 3people lmao. And he didn’t even get the infos right E.g. They ve 24hrs to do the challenge or pay $100, fourth too many layers of clothes.

      August 18, 2014 at 2:32 pm

Justin bieber nominated all his beliebers, and the frickin’ prez of the united states! Nobody said sh*t and a lotta his fans did it……But wen DJ does it, y’all will find some sh*t to criticize. Typical Nigerian tho so i’m not surprised.

This is what @iyke was saying yesterday ooh; naija celebs and copy copy.

    • Nahum

      August 28, 2014 at 1:47 pm

Abeg leave this copy copy isht alone jor. They are bringing attention to a very wicked and killer disease that has no cure…something that many people’s parents, including one of mine, are suffering from. So I personally dont give a isht whether its copy copy or not, the disease needs a cure and that’s THAT!!! So go ‘head with your village mentality and continue to judge others for having fun.. and while you are at it, pray that you dont get ALS cause you will benefit from their copy copy. Goat!

What has the ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE got to do with Nigeria/Nigerian Celebs? Biko. We never imitate positive things, na the Negative once we dey like copy. Rubbish! Don Jazzy Look stupid in that act. Why wear Agbada? He couldnt even endure the pressure from the Ice poured on him and then he’s talking about challenging IYANYA? Calabar man for that matter!

    • Jo!

      August 18, 2014 at 1:15 pm

How do you make sense to yourself?

    • NaijaPikin

      August 18, 2014 at 2:53 pm

Well Musa the challenge has made you and other Nigerians aware of ALS. How is promoting awareness and trying to raise funds for an illness negative? If you don’t have anything to say, its best you keep quiet. It’s not by force to comment

    • Musa

      August 18, 2014 at 4:00 pm

      You dey crazy

    • Trina

      August 18, 2014 at 6:27 pm

No actually Musa, sorry to break it to you but you in fact “dey crazy”

    • Jaygirl

      August 18, 2014 at 6:58 pm

Please does ALS only affect people of a certain nationality? The aim of the challenge is to raise awareness and ofcourse some funds….there’s nothing wrong with Nigerians joining in the ALS challenge….Knowledge is power. If we were aware of Ebola and on alert….maybe, just maybe, we would not have gotten to this stage…but as typical Nigerians we wait until the last minute. I wonder how the ALS challenge is a negative thing since you claim we don’t imitate positive things…my dear, google is your friend, use your phone data wisely by doing some research.
PS: Your comment is so tribalistic, what does tribe have to do with enduring the chills from a bucket of ice and water??? Abi does it snow in Calabar that you think Iyanya will do better??? Biko think before you click ‘post comment’ !

    August 18, 2014 at 12:18 pm

Na wa o…Don doro bucci must you wear Agbada?

  9. ade

    August 18, 2014 at 12:51 pm

Gosh!!! do our celebrities even know what this disease is about??? I am sure they are just learning about it for the first time!! why not do a challenge to raise money for a cause that is close to our hearts here in Nigeria or Africa!!! They just want to follow the celebs abroad

    • NaijaPikin

      August 18, 2014 at 2:54 pm

Thats the point ade…..the goal is to learn about the illness. Knowledge is power.

    • ade

      August 18, 2014 at 3:48 pm

Naija pikin, the GOAL of the challenge is to raise money! READ! they are raising money for whats close to them! Our celebs should be doing something for Africa! How about advocating for better hygiene or raising money for our evident everlasting problems here. They are obviously just following and I bet you, most of us will forget the name of the disease after reading the post. Charity begins at home!

    • NaijaPikin

      August 18, 2014 at 6:10 pm

I can read very well and I am very familiar with this process. It is for awareness and fundraising. Illnesses can affect pple in any part of the world. You cannot determine what is important to someone. Because you don’t care for ALS doesn’t mean the next person doesn’t. How do you know these folks don’t know pple impacted by this illness? Oh because it is an oyinbo disease abi?

I joined to support a similar cause. I didn’t know anything about it before i joined. Once i joined and started reaching out to folks to support my challenge, I was surprised how many of my naija friends kept thanking me. My mother has this illness, my aunt passed away, my sister is living with it. I was so touched.

So the moral of the lesson is this is knowledge and charity. Knowledge is free so it’s great to continue to acquire it. Charity is individual, you cannot dictate what is worth donating to for someone other than yourself.

Lmao!!! I know once Nigerians start, they will make it horrible. Don Jazzy nominated the entire world Oga you are to nominate just 3 people, sit down & finish the challenge. Btw, does he know what the challenge is about? Does he know it’s to be taken in the next 24hrs or his nominees Pay a $100? Who nominated him btw? Lol

    • Michael

      August 18, 2014 at 2:36 pm

Do you know how many people oprah nominated?? Y’all just open your mouth and chat sh*t. DJ had been following the #ALS challenge on twitter since morn… don’t have to be nominated. Once you do it, you can nominate 3 pple, so its not selective. stfu and encourage your pple will you?

Why not for Ebola research?? Lou gherigs affects more white than black people. Yes one or two Nigerians end up with it but still we should be raising money for sickle cell research and Ebola and HIV research and Diabetes and mental illness

ebola is killing people in Nigeria and this is what they bring awareness to? anything to associate with the western world instead of bringing awareness to what is happing at home. I cant deal with these people. So disappointing.

Heres what DJ posted when he put up the clip-

“So I was nominated for the ALS #icebucketchallenge. And I humbly accept. Not only for the ALS but also for the EBOLA and others. We can help find a cure today and not suffer tomorrow. So I challenge the following to do this within the next 24hrs and/or donate to the ALS/EBOLA cause……”

Confirm stories before you pour your judgemental comments.

I hope Nigerian celebrities take a leaf from this challenge and bring it back home…ie use it to raise awareness and money for ebola, malaria, and other diseases particularly plaguing Nigerians/africans.

I just found out one thing about Nigerians. we hate hateful set of pipo no matter were we are. even the so called exposed idoits are acting bush and unenlightened. Gosh. That’s why our country will never move forward. oya now DJ has done it, we still attack him. if you read his writeup on instagram, you will see were he mentioned ebola as well. Bella naija is now turning into other blogs were you will find local people commenting and acting local.
