Haha. Why the vehemence? You know the statement is too true. I am a woman and in this hot nigerian sun things happen but we need to know when to lose that weave and save the poor people we are hugging or sleeping with.

lmfao. ladies wash your goat hair biko! in this nigerian heat, don’t leave a weave on your head for more than 1 month, and if you exercise or cook, take out that weave every 3 weeks because even if you wash your weave, the sweat will still be stuck in your scalp and stink!

Lol! This is so funny but yeah very true. Can’t argue with that!

Thanks o my brother. When i read Isio’s article regarding how she washes her hands and uses sanitizers. I said to myself, awon oniro will come in …..1…2….3 and say ‘This is so me!!’ “You were in my head”, “are we sisters?”. Yet i get into the elevator and other close range areas and smell all kinds of things, B.O, M.O, smelly weaves, wigs. One even though it was a great idea to swing her head with all the smelly weave hitting my face… i definitely was not nice that day at all!!! Jesu!!! {she still gives me a hateful look when we meet in the office complex, her biz men} And most times, women don’t seem to know when it is smelling i think. I told a friend that her wig was smelling funny, she took offence and said it wasn’t possible. i said sorry o, and gave her a distance.

      October 16, 2014 at 3:53 pm

I have had to ask a lady to not move into me on the elevator at uba house before. She got offended and when i was getting off i whispered to her that her weave was smelly. There is no reason, absolutely none to not wash your hair every 2 weeks if you dont have a hairstyle such as braids that get air. And even braids please a month should be the height.

I prefer clean untidy hair to dirty laid hair. Dont know how people even go past a week withouth washing their hair in this damn heat

Chai Chai Chai there is God ooo…. see as you yab the madam of course she will give you the evil eye. When there was an article on goat weave yesterday and all those condemning the natural weave peoples they talk. I knew all the unnatural weave people were not washing their weaves or hair because how do you wash them things ( I mean it gots to dry right???) so for the period that thing is on your hair no washing both the weave and your hair. I still rock my indian curls (goat or not) at least I can wash the dog on thing. They tell I have temple hair on…omo I have skabbash on all temple or none temple hair before it goes on my hair.

So true! I have often wondered how naija babes manage with the waist length, 6 bundles of Indian, Peruvian, Russian etc. hair they wear in that humid heat. It typically looks matted and gross. Whether it be weave, braids or wigs, your hair, bought or not, must be cared for.

True story, my sister does the mostest with her braids. We were at this event when a family acquaintance, also wearing braids asked her to please style her hair into an updo. When she sat and my sister parted her hair, the smell emanating from her head was a bio disaster. Ebola level, enough to clear a room. I don’t know how my sister persevered through styling the hair. When she was done, my sister refused to touch anything or anyone, ran to the bathroom and spent forever washing and disinfecting her hands LOL…

As annoying as it might sound its the truth. We are always trying to save money by carrying weaves for months. I don’t wear any kind of weave for more than 2-3 weeks. And the 3 weeks is me pushing it. Our atmosphere is too hot for that. I don’t care if the Brazilian hair cost you, 10 million naira, its doesn’t self-clean and its not going to wash your scalp for you. He didn’t have to say it the way he did….lol but lets not shoot the messenger, lets take the message. Hopefully a brave woman will do a piece about men that wear the same boxers for two weeks and kill entire colonies of flies when they walk by,…..

He is right tho. And this is not just for weaves or braids. There’s no reason for your hair to smell. It’s so disgusting.

WHy are so many girls so angry. lynxx is right, and yall wonder why brothers go after oyibo or latinos that wash their hai daily(jk, but true).I know someone- black girl that carried her wig for three months without washing it, and it smelled, chai, jesus it smelled lik rotten ogbono soup with dead rat scent. All she said when i told her about it was that i need to stop hating and that the hair was too expensive and took too much time to put in, than to pull out, that she didnt want it to tangle. lynxxx thank you for saying what most of these extension wearers needs to hear. Your music is for a certain audience, that likes to put comedy in their songs, and you do it well. dont mind haters. you are definately improving, even your dance moves, lol. I call it like i see it, but i still recommend that you extend your brand to movies, well produced movies( super hero type, kunle afolayan and jetta amata quality ) cuz dude you too hot and talented not to take advantage of the branding opportunity. Also chukie tell blink to start his own clothing line, i mean the guy has always had that phenomenal style since parkland(i would invest). i always thought that the three of you guys (nedu, you, nelson) always could bring naija entertainment to a new level, through diff avenues, like a comedic drama or reality tv, you and nedu have a great humor that loads of people will enjoy. think about it, if you havent, but make sure you use all your talents and leave none untouched, dont mind haters. as for the girls with rotten fish hair smell needs to take constructive critcism and stop hating.

This is a rather-nice constructive comment here. i”m liking it just for that, because we don’t get it often here.
Now, as for Lynxxx’s comment, it is true, some of us ladies need to take better care of our hair. If you cannot wash, you can clean and air your scalp while wearing your weaves and wigs. Just use the good-old spirit + cotton wool, and you can blow-dry with cold air.
Then for lynxxx’s musical talent or lack thereof, i say Yes, he cannot sing, but having a career in music these days don’t need a good singing voice. Case in point, Dbanj, Wizkid, Davido, Timaya, etc., so free the guy. He should look into other things like what @truth said though, won’t hurt.
      Peace.

Lol @ lynxx my brother from another mother. why murder them ladies openly like this? I remember this fine lady that form a lot when I’m in higher institution, She doesn’t know how the guys laugh at her back on how her weave smell like rotten egg mixed with garlic. Pls ladies adhere to what lynxx said up here so that we can be able to sleep face to face without feeling irritated. Thanks have a good day

The truth is sure bitter. I workout 6 times a week so I have resorted to corn rowing my natural hair and wearing wigs. I wash my hair 2 times a week and my wigs once in 2 weeks. Aside from the smell it does your scalp no good to keep all that skunk in there.

  22. Lynxx what happened?

    October 16, 2014 at 5:07 pm

Lynxx is looking ugly these days. It’s like the older he’s getting the uglier, unlike his looks in his fine fine lady music video. Hmmm let me just sharrap.

haha.. while this is true…the lady needs to look her best for her man and sex him up… this is can also advertise emotional and sexual abuse (indirectly) if some men or women don’t understand this advice clearly… E.g. men will start demanding sex cos she is supposed to sex him up and look good.. i mean u could have a out of weight or oversized husband/man telling his wife to look hot, i mean for real? LOL… ..this is similar to the typical women submit to your husband loud music we always hear, whilst ignoring the first thing which is Husband LOVE your wive as God loves the church…. wonder why domestic violence is high in Africa?–well go figure…. i will LOVE and sex you up alright but me i will not do the extra extra if he doesn’t respect me sha.. thats my own…

I personally don’t have a weave and my hair stays fresh just like me. But I just wanted to diss this guy because I can. PLEASE CUT THAT NASTY ASS BEARD! How long did you live in the USA. Drop the accent abeg, tired of these fake ass Nigerians. Instead of him to just come out straight and promote the sisters salons hair business, he is going around the houses there. Mschewww!

Promote his sister’s business? He’s not talented? I really wonder how much lynxx affects some of you for you to not just think, but spend the time to type up vitriol about him. Na wa o. If they call you haters now, the barking would start…

Thanks for the PSI Chukky. In my weave-wearing days, whenever I told ladies that I washed my weaves and my braids while still wearing them, they looked at me like I was crazy. ‘Won’t it smell they asked?’ Well, better the smell of shampoo and conditioner than of rotting ‘goat hair’…hehe

hahaha lol, funny but true, some ladies keep their weaves in for 2-3 months!!! without washing ewww how do they cope? comparing themselves to chics in obodo oyinbo. if u have “human hair” on please u can wash it while u still have it on just make sure it gets dry, synthetic hair should not be on ur head for more than 3 weeks, 4 weeks max. And please ladies wash ur hair in between hairstyles u take out a weave/braids please shampoo and condition before have something else done. Also wash your weave before putting them away. ladies can be really lazy when it comes to taking care of their hair and when their hair doesn’t they wonder y.

Since we r on smells, guys make una dey change una boxers oooooooooo, 3-4 boxers a week won’t kill you. Some guys be wearing 1 boxer a week yuck.
This is my own 2 kobo sha. 😀
