GTBank Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2014 – Day 3: iamISIGO presents ‘Taboo’

Iamisigo-Day3-GTBank-LFDW-October2014-BellaNaija013The Spring/Summer 2015 collection from Nigerian fashion brand iamISIGO at the GTBank Fashion & Design Week showcased on Day 3 was called ‘Taboo’.

The collection was an easy collection without plenty overwhelming details to distract from the pieces that were showcased. Creative Director, Bubu Ogisi, filled the collection with practical easy-to-wear pieces from dungarees, skirts, capes, crop top, lace blouses, dresses and more.

She stuck with four colours for the collection – black, white, blue and green.

While we would have loved to see something a bit more audacious to go with the ‘Taboo’ name of the collection, we love how effortlessly chic most of the looks are.

We also love the way the models were made up – hair into pigtails plus tribal line on the middle of the face.

Check out the collection below!

Excuse you????? This is an excellent collection. How dare you call it rubbish? It is your type of people that call everything made from ankara “High Fashion”.

@Orangish please take a seat and stick to whatever boring thing it is you do. Nobody that has an atom of creativity in them would dislike this collection. It was pure genius.

To the writer of this review, you obviously weren’t at that show. Purple was a MAJOR color and you didn’t even mention it.

Oh well, I’m done. We all just need to get our heads out of what we are used to and appreciate the beauty in unconventionality.

This collection is really good and the show itself was amazing. I love that I amisigo knows her brand and has defined a niche for herself. Her collection always tells a story and in this one she was able to create wearable pieces but still staying true to her brands identity. Well done Bubu

It looks like a whole lot of inspiration/copying from many sources. There is no voice in this collection, at least not the voice of one person/designer. Just a lot of re-appropriating of looks from magazines. The tailor is good but I am not sure how I feel about the lack of originality.
