I Will Concentrate on Rural Development if Re-elected – Ogun Governor Amosun

Ibikunle-Amosun2Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun on Wednesday promised to continue to commit the resources of the state for the development of the rural areas across the state, if re-elected.

Amosun gave the promise in Coker, a town in Ifo local Government of the state in Ogun during his re-election campaign tour.

He said his administration would focus on the construction of rural roads, electricity supply, and create employment opportunities in rural communities.

“I want to thank you for your support and perseverance in the last three and half years.

“It is not that we neglect you; our concentration during the first term was on urban renewal which we intend to attract investors into the state.

“You can see that many companies have sprung up in the state and many investors are still interested in doing their businesses in Ogun.

“What we have been doing is to make the environment more conducive for investors.

“This we believe will allow us to develop the rural areas for the establishment of more industries and for investors to come in. ‘’

The governor had earlier in the day visited Ifo ward 1 and Ibogun ward with a total of 37 communities.

Other areas the governor visited include Ibogun, the home of the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibogun Olaogun, Ibogun Adina, Ibogun Odeyemi and Ibogun Egbeda.

He also visited Ibogun Sulola, Ibogun Fashina and Ibogun Odejimi,Ibogun Akiode,Akinsinde among others.

He advised the people to be security conscious and not to allow deceitful politicians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards from them, saying that PVC was their power to elect leaders of their choice.

The governor, however, called on the electorate to vote for all the candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) in all the elections come February.

Lamidi Adebiyi, the Chairman of Ibogun ward, and Olu Ayan, students’ leader, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ibogun campus, pledged their loyalty and support for the victory of APC.
