Asari Dokubo: GEJ Lost Presidential Elections Because the Elections Weren’t Free & Fair

Asari Dokubo

Niger-Delta political activist, Asari Dokubo is expressing his thoughts on why he thinks former president Goodluck Jonathan lost the elections.

According to Vanguard, Dokubo on Sunday stated:

“The figures were self evident. The figures clearly showed the manipulations. The elections were not free and fair. Also, the stage was set to manipulate the elections…Our brother Goodluck Jonathan refused to listen to us. To him, the life of any Nigerian was not worth his election or ambition. For us, that was an abdication of his duties as President because we were also involved in the elections and we wanted a free and fair elections.”
Speaking on the incident that occurred on election day in which four card readers were not working when the former president tried to vote, Dokubo said:
“That was the time Dr. Jonathan ought to have taken action and stopped the fraud that INEC called an election. He did not do it. It was in the middle of a crucial match that the referee, Professor Attahiru Jega, who is from the same place with Muhammadu Buhari, issued a statement that if card readers cannot confirm your finger prints, then you can go on and vote.”

When Jonathan won by a landslide in 2011, the elections were free and fair abi? Was it not this same Jega that oversaw those same elections? Nonsense.

This man and his ilk refuse to accept that their actions and unguarded utterances also contributed to Jonathan’s loss of goodwill. Yeye dey smell.

Why cry over spill milk, “your brother” President Jonathan, lost election amongst many reasons, corruption and his inability to perform, can you point to one thing or project he executed that benefit the public? He could not even build a refinery for a man that comes from the oil region…what an idiot. Do you expect President Buhari to build refinery in Bayelsa? Get over the election, a better man won.

@ Emmanuel Ukpe.., the eve before the hand over, I read online, GEJ”s report to Buhari . The work he did, including those that are yet to be completed. Are you saying none of those things were true?

I personally don’t give a damn who the president is, as long as he/she is the best for the job, the whole Nigeria is his/ her constituency and their reign is fair and just.

    Didn’t bother to read.
The biggest question is: did the performance of Former President Jonathan in office deserve him another 4 years by Nigerian people? The simple answer is Emphatic No!
Jonathan didn’t deserve to win and every one including Asari know it.

I believe the elections were rigged by both parties, but in a rigged and fair elections conducted by Niger deltans led by Asari Buhari will beat Jonathan hands down. The margin was even close sef, in a fair election Jonathan won’t get up to 5 million votes(facts, no lie).

Nigerians honestly wanted a ” change” and it was so evident, on blogs, social media, BellaNaija comments, online voting even GEJ’s spokemen twitter handle.( You all remember the encounter of Doyin with the journalists??) e.t.c. Buhari fans monopolized everywhere. Even at the polling booth when you call APC the people chant “Sai Baba or Aso Rock!!” and PDP!! they chant “Otuoeke!!” Lol. Even in Aso rock Buhari won GEJ. I can go on and go and give instances of how people clearly rejected GEJ but his apologists are so blind to see the writing on the wall.

Its funny how Asari of all people who costed his brother so many votes with his careless utterances can still speak after all. I know people who voted APC cause they were tired of the absolute power this guy possessed. Thought he said there will be unrest if Goodluck loses. Empty barrel makes the loudest noise!!
#I will always love GEJ, he is a very good man but not a leader#

No, he lost because people were just fed up of his lacklustre responses to intricate aspects of the polity and his lack of intellectual shrewdness to employ intelligent people to manage his PR affairs. For example Doyin Okupe who was his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs was a disaster. If you are in doubt watch his interview on BBC hardtalk.

The first time “Dr” Jonathan ever and I repeat ever asked for anything from fellow humans to judge and give it to him on merit, he failed. Everything in his life was handed to him by proxy. For a man who couldn’t control his bedroom, “Dr” has been lucky indeed. He can take Asari with him and try to run Utuoke polytechnic successfully for a change.

I always feel that Asari should be taken to one of those churches where they beat when doing deliverance because the spirits following and directing this man need koboko.

Why do people keep reporting things he says? Like giving the villlage madman a microphone and podium at the marketplace…wait, abi, that is the strategy? Free entertainment?

*hurriedly makes the tea she is going to sip*

Silence is the best answer for this big for nothing lousy idiot. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan lost the presidential election fair and square. He accepted the outcome of the election. Nigeria will forever be indebted to him for being a gallant looser. I don’t know why this fool is still talking about that election? The only thing you should be thinking/concerned about now is to watch your utterances. More foolish statements from you might cost you your freedom. The more you know. A word is enough for the wise. I’ m just saying.

Jonathan lost because majority of the right thinking people in this country were fed up of his dithering incompetence and cluelessness. End of! The man simply did not have the mental capacity to rule a country as complex as Nigeria. So please shut and content yiourself with the small wealth you’ve garnered as an “ex-militant” now turned “government contractor-siphoning-Nigeria’s-wealth-under-the-guise-of-dubious-pipeline-surveillance-contracts-yet crude-theft-is-on-the-increase!

i cant believe the impudence of this man, the audacity he has to speak , and he feels people will listen, i cant believe a uniquely sophisticated brand like bella gave him that platform, but on the other hand i must commend your business sense . OUR BELOVED FORMER PRESIDENT to begin to talk about that man would be an insult to all who stand for change, to create conversation and trending stories about our former timid president who did absolutely nothing during his tenure other than but allow corruption to reign in Nigeria would be an insult to our struggle, People lets not keep trending news about old news this is a new era with Buhari and for the first time in a long time , Nigeria has a fighting chance to survive we have a soldier that will fight tooth and nails to give her that fighting chance, please let keep the news era of General Buhari’s administration trending
