US Wins 2015 Women’s World Cup After Defeating Japan 5-2

The U.S women’s football team has won the 2015 Women’s World Cup, after defeating defending champions, Japan 5-2 in the finals.

The action-packed final match took place on Sunday in Vancouver, British Columbia, CNN reports.

Football star, Carli Lloyd, was the star of the show, as she scored three out of the winning team’s five goals. Lauren Holiday and Tobin Heath scored the remaining two goals.

This is America’s first win since winning the trophy in 1999.
