      @ ITK

I feel you. I like osas and Gbenro but y’all need to chill with this overexposure. If y’all don’t know what to do with your free time, do some more humanitarian work or give out clean water and food to those in need.
Why don’t you just call those u need to thank why throw a party for it.

Osas, you look tired in the face from over partying. You are married now, marriage is serious work, not play time.

    • tish

      August 3, 2015 at 8:32 pm

Chai, seriously ehn I really tire for una. On top their money again? Over exposure how? Blame it on social media. People have been partying for ages. How do you know they don’t give to those in need? It’s the same you that will complain if it is publicised.
Smh human beings sha, na to just do your thing last last. People must talk either ways. Osas and Gbenro carry go. Throw as many parties as you deem fit jare!

@ITK, what you have said is true. Nigerians just like to look for opportunity to throw cash out and make news on blogs. what is wrong with sending thanks you texts , or simply just phoning friends. if you have money, to throw around pls be charitable,
and dont ask me how i know they havent been charitable with money recently (eg motherless babies) becos Nigerians will blow their own trumpets if they gave out even 50 kobo charitably

    • Mohammad

      August 4, 2015 at 1:01 pm

I was just about to post the same thing! It looks likes a Moët-sponsored event designed to push their brand and encourage non-celebrities (who themselves are not paying out of their own pockets for these bashes) to spend our hard-earned cash on champagne and “thank you” soirees!

” All those saying haters, its not about hating, why don’t we Nigerians follow the good trends its always the ones that have no sense or makes them say “i pass my neighbour”, what is ‘thank you soiree’… How long ago was the wedding? they want to keep milking it? i don tire abeg!!!

    • oladyy

      August 5, 2015 at 2:44 pm

This whole wedding thing is becoming something else. Weddings use to be a sacred event when i was younger. Now, there’s so much pressure on couples to out do each other. Ive not yet gotten over the fact that for just INTRODUCTION, people now call DJs, decorators, MC,etc. They even wear asoebi sef. i thought intro is just some kind of ‘knocking on the parents’ door”. i thought intro is soupposed to be scary cos you are not sure the family will even accept your proposal. The whole thing is just so crazy, and while im still trying to process it, i see “thank you..gini’?? what happened to thank you cards or even text messages, of which i don’t see the point, since the groom would have given a vote of thanks at the end of the ceremony..Abeg people should calm down… HABA!!!

This couple seek attention pass Kardashains. They just want to keep trending. They won’t learn from others.

Well, I feel all these social media-exposed marriages are vulnerable to the attacks of the enemies. Satan is fighting marriages and rates of marriage problems is alarming.

My advice: Keep your marriage private and be prayerful.

I have one question why are the new fame whores always posing for pictures
Respectable veterans like . Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola, Rita Dominic, even Jim Iyke sef he is so low key never see him anywhere (i guess he doesnt trust anyone which makes sense), you hardly ever see them in such social gatherings. I guess they have been there done that. This whole social scene is become like a new trend cos everyone wants to pose for instagram. Some too common than others (especially Toke Makinwa). Sometimes its good to stay low key a bit, Be unassuming a lil, not everytime you will grin teeth and pose with K leg, eager to see when it will appear on Bellanaija to read comments or that of instagram.

ps: Uti has fallen back a notch too which i like. He was becoming to common on social scenes during his days with Alex Ekubo. So i guess these are the NEW IT people of Lagos social scenes abi. Its your time, enjoy it as we get bored.

Why are you people bothering this girl about her “Thank You Soiree” noooooooooooow eh? Many people in Nigeria have Thanksgiving Service after their wedding in Nigeria all the time, no be so? They had their white wedding in America which was not attended by most of these friends so they are having a party to thank them for attending her Traditional Wedding and for their support of all her wedding plans which was a success. Abeg, make una just leave the girl. She has the money to do it and the friends/family to attend, which wan concern una or na because dem no invite una?

  17. Tade

    August 3, 2015 at 6:56 pm

This is so totally unnecessary. A handwritten thank you card will suffice. Why continue to spend money you should have invested in your home or account on a “thank you party”

Nah. Thats just doing too much raise to power 2.

You got married in the traditional way, had your white wedding, probably went for honeymoon. My dear Osas you should be hibernating and chilling under your husband in the bedroom *face palm*. Let us miss you small.

At least be scarce. Let us miss you small. Im not sure who your friends are but whoever advised you to do this does not have your interest at heart.

I personally think you are down to earth but if you continue like this – Your worth in the media would start to diminish. Go ask den other media aunties.

I really hope upcoming brides DO NOT copy this. I hope not – So not a good idea starting your marriage with financial difficulty. All for bellanaija and instagram.

We go dey here dey look.

Not pointless… I know for a fact they had this party because many of the guests couldn’t make it to Benin bc they closed down Benin Airport the day of their trad wedding so many of them who attended the Thank You soirée didn’t get to celebrate in Benin or New York. You all should really chill and park well. Hmmm. Well, Congrats Gbenro and Osas well done.

Nigerians are very sad empty people, drinking Panadol for another man headache. It’s their money let them throw countless thank you soirée if they so choose.

Nigeria, my Nigeria. Where people dictate to YOU how you should make decisions. Better still, where STRANGERS think they know you and your situation more than yourself – so they can damn well give you step to step advise on how to go about it, albeit senseless most of the time. Where they know little or nothing yet in their head, they know the most and are the most informed. Oh, it’s just another way of life when theyvonly see the hyper reality but come to conclusions on that. Rabble rousers are totally acceptable in my country and in fact they rock.

If you have the money, you spend it. That’s the moral of this “thank you” party.

However, if you don’t have, don’t be fooled by pop culture.

Bella… na high jump una wan put Us. Well, I know a lot of people will start doing this to outshine peeps. But truth is… only a coward/fool will follow such trend and many other past trends.

Building a home is way more than this. Thanking people who ain’t even happy for you

@Kushan, please get your information right, which owners of venue hosted what?. Osas must be the one sponsoring all this stuffs..somehow I just don’t see Gbenro in that light, and yes I am still not feeling the guy one bit. Not my problem though!

We CAN!!! and we will soon get enough..bella does a lot of wedding posts that I always love and never comment badly cause its a happy day for the couple and its about them..but this one looks like advert..kilode! all d hyping is too much abeg and after now you’ll scroll up and see she’s doing polo ads..u’ll soon see her husband’s movie trailers..effortless wedding parties will always look beautiful but when you try too hard like in this case, then you raise suspicion and such dont be quick to brand people haters and move on..sometimes facts hurt more than the truth
