Ellie Goulding Smolders for Glamour Mag’s Nov. Issue | Dishes on being Ready for Marriage at 30, Learning from Taylor Swift & More

Ellie Goulding for Glamour Magazine - BellaNaija - September 2015When we see singer Ellie Goulding, we can’t help buy hum ‘so love me like you do…la,la,love my like you do‘. That song is definitely a Summer hit. But right now, we can move from appreciating Ellie with our ears, to our eyes as she covers the November 2015 issue of Glamour Magazine.

On the cover we see the star with deep smokey eyes, a nude face, windy hair and a cleavage baring sequined green dress. Love it!

Ellie kicks back and relaxes for her interview with the magazine, while talking about being ready for marriage at 30 (she is currently dating Dougie Poynter), what she’s learned from industry peers – Katy Perry & Taylor Swift, and how she finds her serenity.

Read excerpts below:

On being ready for marriage
God, yes! I’m nearly 30. I once had a pretty warped view of marriage because so many people around me had divorced parents. So for a long time I did think that I’d never get married and that men were shit – all that stuff. But when someone comes along and re-establishes that trust, [whispering now in case Dougie, who is ‘kicking about downstairs’, overhears] then it’s nice to think of doing everything the traditional way: having a church wedding, with all my family in one place – I love the idea of that.

Being sort of shy, Ellie has learned how to walk out on stage with confidence from Taylor Swift & Katy Perry. She remembers thinking…
“I should try that”. So one day, I did – and it works! Now, my confidence has risen so much on stage that I think a lot of people who once thought of me as ‘that Ellie Goulding from the John Lewis ad’ are almost scared when they see me live – because I’m an entirely different person.

On finding serenity
I haven’t changed anything about myself, but I feel more confident now because I’ve realized I’ve got a lot to offer that’s not about how I look. I feel like I’ve got a good sense of humour and I like to think that I’m a smart person – and the truth is that you can’t spend every day worrying about your looks. My best friend is so pretty that she got bullied for it. So I feel like you can never win with yourself and you’ll never be happy unless you make a conscious decision to accept yourself. Life is very precious, so to worry about the way you look is such a waste of time.

The new issue hits stands on the 5th of October. Be sure to grab your copy for more images and more from the mag. Visit for more.
