It looks gaudy and strange. I live in Miami and this doesn’t do any justice to our magic city. They couldn’t even pretend to have one person pretend to smoke a Cuban cigar or serve some pastelitos. Shame, shame!?Miami is not dark and miserable looking. Miami is sunny and fun.?

They image it was in Miami, thereby making it a Miami themed shower. LOL

      October 26, 2015 at 2:01 pm

You can have any theme for a shower/event, even Arabian. However, this looks nothing like a Miami themed shower.

@ Jide thank U!!! Like seriously??? Miami themed? Where’s the beach, the sun, the bikinis, the beautiful trees etc! And what’s up with that group pix make-up? Y’all looking like something else.

Lol…Naijas and wanting to prove. The competition is real. It looks like Lilian Esoro is really trying hard to keep up with the joneses. Ubi franklin, will die with so much debts trying to give her a life that’s beyond his/her means. I mean, his lenders are already crying out.. She seems insecure living within her means. What’s this nonsense of Miami theme, to give an illusion you guys had it in Miami or what. First, you do traditional at someone’s house(usually it’s your family house), then took engagement photos at someone’s house too, now this rubbish(Miami theme). What’s next, a Parisian wedding?

I am confused here…Is she not married already? How does it work in Nigeria?so without the wedding she is not properly married?Where i come from, the traditional marriage is marriage and then when you go to registry, you have just legalized it under the ordinance so what do you guys mean by counting down to be ‘Mrs Ubi Franklin?’
All this stress and plenty spending money for?i know its not my money sha

    • Jay

      October 26, 2015 at 1:59 pm

You guys do a Church wedding and reception too in Ghana so chill out. So insisting on doing a Church wedding and reception is categorized as too much spending? Wow.

    • MC

      October 26, 2015 at 3:10 pm

You obviously just didn’t want to understand her point.
A bridal shower AFTER getting married is backwards.

    • Jay

      October 27, 2015 at 1:26 pm

MC, your brain and mind is obviously closed. She hasn’t done a traditional and Church wedding and as such, she can still do a bridal shower. She has only do her introduction and registry. By the way, generally speaking; since when did doing a bridal shower after marriage become backwards? Some of you are so stupid with your constructed rules. I wonder how you guys come up with these ridiculous things.

    • Jay

      October 27, 2015 at 1:29 pm

    • S!

      October 26, 2015 at 3:11 pm

Where have you seen them do traditional marriage? Or is Introduction now marriage?

    • whatwillbewillbe

      October 26, 2015 at 8:58 pm

They’ve done registry na. That one is the wedding. Church is just to go for blessing biko
BN, I’m surprised at this mistake. Wedding is wedding, be it traditional or church and is recognised by our Law’. In fact, the marriage wey fit get k leg sef be White or Church wedding if you go do am for church wey no register to conduct wedding.

Abena u pretty much live on this blog but steady talking smack about nigerians. What is ur mission here biko?
Dont come here disrespecting people’s culture cos nigerians never have the time to go on bellaghana to critisize u people’s culture or way of life. Go and ask indians and middle easterners who have weeklong or month long wedding ceremonies the same question.

    • Mrs A

      October 26, 2015 at 6:22 pm

Nothing to be confused about. It’s just also a way to keep it interesting. And not everyone go by traditional wedding or court to be official. Yeah, court wedding is important bcos you have legally taken another’s person’s name which means husband and wife. Traditional wedding, is mainly for families to come together. For me, my church wedding was special to me. It has nothing to do with the pastor, church but that feeling of standing before God and congregation was special to me. Hearing my husband say his vows to me, the pastor praying and saying his words of encouragement. One of the choir members, singing praises/worship to God, And we were both celibate, so it sealed it for me. I felt like, yes I’m officially mrs A.

    • lawyerinthemaking

      October 28, 2015 at 4:43 pm

Err @Mrs A you do not take anyone’s name legally when you get married at the registry/court. The change of name should one choose to is a whole new legal process which also includes legally changing identification documents. At the time of signing the certificate and afterwards you are still very much legally the name your parents gave you at birth. Should you now choose to legally change your name then you will have now legally taken another name. For example you cannot book a flight for your honeymoon in your marital name when your passport is still in your maiden name same as if applying for any visas you will still apply in your maiden name if that is what appears on your passport at the time of the application hope it makes sense? Society may refer to you by your marital name but as long as you have not done the marital name change legally then you are still very much the name given to you at birth according to the law.

      October 30, 2015 at 3:06 pm

      @lawyerinthemaking

Abeg, take several seats trying to show off ur small brain. What Mrs A is saying, when you marry in court, you are legally husband and wife, which means to many that’s when they can officially change their name if they want to. In the U.S, many couples file taxes together, have joint medical insurance, benefits etc before they do white or whatever wedding once the court wedding is done.

The lesson I learn from all this is very simple. There are some people who live life modestly and have simple tastes and yet they ooze class and dignity without even speaking. And there are some people, if you like take them to all the exclusive boarding schools in Europe, give them all the degrees in the world and let Coco Chanel come back from beyond and be their personal stylist: they will still be RAZZ.T

Lillian, abeg if you are reading this blog. Keep your business and your marriage private. You have too many haters. The amount of bile in this comment section though. If your marriage breaks up, God forbid! The mockery will be intense. So keep your business out of the prying eye of enemies.
