      @john

He’s on his world tour. He could care less about his country. Buhari, said Nigeria is broke. So is his world tour covered with his private money or government money? But then he said, he’s not rich. We have to hold him accountability for misleading the country and not being transparent. He’s not giving any reason for living more in other countries than the country that elected him.
Those that were strong critics of Jonathan should come out and do the same to this administration. Not that I’m a fan of the last administration but Buhari is getting away with too much and it’s not being questioned. Last administration went into hiding, this administration is parading all over the place non stop.

Hmmm…. Nne, I get you but ermmm if you don’t know both visits are quite different. The first one was just a meeting between the two countries and the second visit is a world meeting with different countries in attendance taking place in France. The latter can be held anywhere, in Cotonou etc While the former could only take place in France. You get the difference now right?

Why everyone is complaining so that the president is in France with 150 other heads of state and governments to discuss about one of the most important issues of our common future? (For those who are don’t get it, I’m talking about climate change).

For once, one of his trips has a real meaning and I serisously do not understand the criticism

My dear do not mind them, Murray Bruce has suddenly discovered common sense when he became the opposition…silly old man
The President( for those who don’t like it, go to the lagoon) is on an official trip with other countries and he is not on a tour…

Let me explain it to you:

In the bombings that took place last month in Paris, The french president cancelled his trip to G-20 summit in Turkey so as to focus on crisis in France.

Ben Murray Bruce is saying that if French president can do this because of 1 crisis (well two this year), why is Buhari gallivanting around when thousands are dying because of Boko Haram in Nigeria

Abeg ! can’t his VP attend some of these events on his behalf? he needs to sit his bum down for a sec. people are dying in the north and it is December already, he is not anywhere close to ending boko haram’s insurgency as he blabbed earlier. only him, president, petroleum minister and minister of culture and tourism by default.

shaa there must always be som’n to talk about! First it was that he refused to appoint ministers and was running the government alone, blah, blah! Now that he has appointed ministers to run the government and is free to represent Nigeria where need be, another problem! If he doesn’t go to these events, some people will still complain that Nigeria is not being represented at world events, what is he doing at home babysitting Ministers? Besides by Senator’s arguments (which I agree with sometimes but not on this one), let’s try and make a list of countries that Nigeria ‘can’ visit i.e. countries that will visit us when they are in crisis….oya let’s start….maybe Niger, Chad, Benin republic….., so apart from these and the like our Head of State is not allowed to visit any other Country?

  15. Tee

    November 30, 2015 at 2:05 pm

He is talking for his brother,we all know who. Thank God this government don’t travel with 110-150 people unlike them. If you think Nigerians don forget all the past administration trips and entourage pls think again. We have records and memory stick in our brains,so direct your biased tweet to youths who don’t know left from right.

I don’t usually subscribe to what Ben Bruce says, not all anyways. But the fact is must Buhari honour every invitation that comes his way. Global warming today, another one tomorrow when our country, especially the North ( Borno ) is in disarray. When last did kids go to schools in some villages? I am sad about what happened in Paris, but believe me in Nigeria we loose that number of people monthly in the North. But because its not Lagos/Abuja/PH, a lot of us don’t know. Now a number of girls have been kidnapped again, the Chibok girls are still nowhere to be found.
There is insecurity every where, im constantly looking over my shoulders. I wanted to buy fruits one day, and a hausa man that is always accosting me I don’t buy from him, came to my window to complain as usual. This time he was waving a knife he used in peeling orange, d fear that gripped me, I just warned him, I will wind ur hands up, if you don’t move. Immediately I see a hausa man im cautious, with a knife againnnn no. This is what present day Nigeria is, fear abounds every where, in traffic, in d market, on d streets etc.
Buhari should pls get his priorities right. God forbid if I have a child that is seriously ill at home or my home is in disarray, you wont catch me leave my child at home saying im going to go to another persons child’s birthday to celebrate with them. I will just send a gift and send my apologies.

@Tea… You are insinuating that we don’t know what is happening because the violence is not in Lago/ Abuja/ PH….
So you forgot that Northerners have been massacring the south since 1960s.
      Nigerians forget easily.
Go back in history, is there any decade I’m Nigeria without a mass murder of southerners, in the north? Even before the emergence of Boko Haram?
BTW, who did Boko Haram kill first? You have forgotten about the UN bombing in Abuja, Catholic Church bombings?
Have ever wondered what happened to the victims?
I still remember the girl that lost all her family in the church bombings.
Just because an IDP was not established for these people does not mean that they didn’t feel the ferocity of these attacks.

These violence have gone on so long in the North, that it has become a culture now.

So we in the south know, because we have lost friends, family and property over and over again, while the government turned their eyes away and swept things under the carpet! !!

I don’t know why we don’t like to hear the truth. He has stated the truth. The fact that you are a member of/or support a particular party does not mean that you can’t call them out on their bullsheeeet. I am not the biggest fan of Ben Bruce but it is the truth. You will come here supporting rubbish yet, na all of us go dey inside the fuel queue dey fight with okada riders vs jerry can buyers vs fuel attendants…mschewwwww.

@ Tea,….” God forbid if I have a child that is seriously ill at home or my home is in disarray, you wont catch me leave my child at home saying im going to go to another persons child’s birthday to celebrate with them. I will just send a gift and send my apologies” <===== this sentence is everything and captures what everyone is trying to say beautifully. You people supporting Buhari should sip on that.

this is just the same thing as bringing an outsider to family issues, if only he would discuss it with Nigerians because we are the one to gain the benefits or detriment. if the solution or point of view of France is different from Nigerians view then that is more pepper in the soup already boiling

While the self-anointed Minister of Petroleum (and his Minister of State) was attending a gas conference in Iran, we were spending our days in queues looking for gas and spending our nights in darkness because there is no gas for our power plants.

While he was attending the CHOGM state dinner in Malta, Boko Haram was busy blowing up folks in Yobe and Kano. But, hey, perhaps he will get the 90-year-old head of the Commonwealth to come “lead from the front” to Sambisa Forest. SMDH

The problem isn’t about his current trip to France. I guess what most people are complaining about is the number of trips he has taken since May.
By the way, what does Buhari even know about climate change?

@Ben Bruce- Indeed, TALK is CHEAP!!.
If only you know the depth of debt and serious mess th past administrations have put our economy, then you will know that PMB or any other, be him/her a sit at home president, CANNOT fix the current Nigeria state in 1yr.
Truth be told, we should be ready to go through uncomfortable and not as usual seasons in the process of recovery. This includes Forex situation,
At this stage of our economy whether we all like it or not, talk from now till kingdom come, make sense or not, we have to through this valley, no pain no gain. We should be been talking like this for past administrations. Don’t expect miracle economy now an it has nothing to do with PMB’s trips.
