Yvonne Chioke raises funds for IDPs at 50th Birthday Party
You may have seen her on red carpets on BN over the years. Yvonne Chioke is a business executive who has worked for leading international companies in Nigeria for over a decade. She is also the wife of Ike Chioke, CEO of wealth advisory firm, Afrinvest.
As she turned 50 this month, Yvonne decided to celebrate in a different way. She and her husband hosted guests including Senator Ben Murray Bruce, Ernest Ebi, former Deputy Governor, CBN; Larry Ettah, GMD, UAC Nigeria Plc; Eric Maydieu, Regional Director, PSA Peugeot Citroen; Kayode Akinkugbe, MD FBN Quest and Dapo Oshinusi, MD Mansfield Energy at Maison Fahrenheit in Victoria Island, Lagos.
There was a deeper cause beyond the gloss as the Yvonne Charity Collection (YCC) was officially unveiled.
YCC is an incubation project conceived by Yvonne and Ike Chioke.
YCC features the works of three promising young designers – Kehinde Opeloyeru, Opeoluwa Egbetayo and Alaba Etomi, and is intended to promote the creativity of Nigerian fashion designers.
YCC also aims to contribute to the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in northeast Nigeria, as the designs showcased at the birthday party are on sale with all proceeds channeled to IDPs.
You can support the project by purchasing pieces from the collection. You may also wish to contribute directly to the N1bn Insurgency Intervention Fundraising Program – an initiative of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) and Adamawa Peace Initiative (API), which is being driven by Afrinvest (West Africa) Limited. So far, N120m has been raised.
Donations can be made to AUN (IDPs) Fund held by FNNL through the Access Bank Account 0697396925.
