Freeze Meets Ayodele Daniel Dada & Asks Companies to Endorse Him

Ayodele Daniel Dada, Freeze & N6

Ayodele Daniel Dada, Freeze & N6

Last weekend OAP Freeze said he thinks Ayodele Daniel Dada deserves more recognition. Click here if you missed it.

Now he has met with the record-setting scholar and is calling on sponsors to donate to the recent graduate. He asks Innoson to give Ayodele a car, Sujimoto to give him accommodation, and politicians Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti (where Ayodele is from) to recognize him, Senator Ben Bruce to also support him in some way. He also calls on multinationals to endorse him with millions of Naira.

Here’s the note he shared on Instagram.

Dear comrades,

The ‘oil bubble’ has burst and a new bubble is about to be birthed. It’s the #MadeInNigeria bubble and if we don’t tap into it now, we would miss out of the biggest opportunity of this generation. The black gold that used to be was our nation’s financial backbone doesn’t command the price it once did. It’s a new dawn and the perfect time to look inward and drill another type of ‘black Gold’. It’s time to invest our ‘intellectual capital’ and grow our human resource potential.

Until we realize out inherent capability we cannot utilize it, and to realize it, we have to invest in education, industriousness and innovation.

Ayodele Daniel Dada is the 1st Nigerian in 54years to get a perfect CGPA.
My question is, how do we encourage him, and most importantly channel the minds of the forthcoming generation into the realization that our intellectual ability is the driving force behind innovation, which in itself is our greatest asset?

How do we dissuade the next generation from the teachings of many pastors, who ‘Barnum’ them, by selling the idea of a ready made financial miracle, for 10% of their current income?

How do we encourage them to stay back and build Nigeria instead of running overseas, further depleting our ‘intellectual economy’? Despite all Ayodele’s potential, he is about to be evicted from his home @sujimoto81 need you!

Dear Senator Bruce, you often speak about #MadeInNigeria. Let us develop him so he won’t be stolen from us by the intellectual poachers of the western world.

Innoson, please give this man a car. If you can win a car at the headies for singing skibirobisko, I believe he should be awarded one too

MTN, GLO, ETISALAT and AIRTEL you give Multi Million Naira endorsements to Musicians whose songs quite often possess Questionable Lyrics and Encourage a ‘Poverty Mindset’ please endorse this gentleman.

Governor Fayose, leave APC and Buhari for a few minutes and attend to Ayodele who is from your state (Ekiti). Please put the might of your office behind him and he would make your state proud!

I have begun to live the change I preach. I will put whatever little power I have, behind @ayodeledanieldada.

Not very manly in my opinion. There is no tact in calling people out as a means of soliciting their assistance, especially when they don’t owe it to you. Freeze’s Instagram note is more of an attack on the state of our society than anything specifically about Ayodele Dada. Good idea, wrong approach in this society.

Forgot to add, if dis guy goes to Canada, as a lot of Nigerian graduates are now doing. It will be a great disservice to dis country.

How will they when the musician and actors are making big bucks and living the “good” life, when people like Davido can make 2.1 barely going to class while those who worked hard in school work long hours and suffer in lagos traffic for less than #2million a year, i.e. if they see the job sef?

This is a country where winner in an educative comperition get #150,000 i.e cowbell competition for schools but mtn, etisalat and airtel will give #7m for their musical competition, naija idols, project fame. We have abandoned educarion. Now school children want to be like olamide and co. Freeze is rite. He needs to be encouraged haba. If not he will be snatched and of course i see him out of naija very soon. Im sure of that

No offense but what this guy studied is not considered hard science, it’s social science, so nah he is not worthy of all these praise. How do we know how he was graded to achieve this 5.0, can he measure up to his counter parts in the rest of the world? I highly doubt that. You see freeze you are fighting a losing battle. this guy in my view is not worthy of all these accolades until he can prove him self worthy by using his acquired skills to do something great. Unlike jumoke, he had access to education and its his fault if he goes homeless. HE has gotten money from countless foundations, including the 500k from the university, has he not been rewarded enough? No if he was like the young kids building crafts from scratch and inventing new things, then i might say there you go boy. But the fact that he didnt study any hard sciences. like engineering, mathematics, medicine, law or other competitive things than simple psych. Second he is 29, negro, you old enough to teach the course and you have had more than ample time to study, it would be different if he was in regular graduation age, but i understand there are situations in naija like strikes that might have delayed his graduation. Am sure this is not his first try in college, so his grade point average means nothing unless he can prove himself. I am not an ageist, just a skeptic, but this guy don old to be just having a mere bachelors, he should be on his phd. No offense i have a degree in psychology and as a well trained psychiatrist this dude being given all these accolade does not equate how useful or competitive he would be amongst his pairs in the same field. So Lets stop this rubbish, its just simple psych degree, not even a masters. So freeeze in conclusion, my answer to all this recognition you are asking for is HECK NO!! I DONT TRUST THIS CGPA, UNTIL HE CAN PROVE HIMSELF IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET.

REALLY????? In ur mind now what u typed made sense. U just called a course less worthy.

      March 5, 2016 at 5:47 pm

I am flabbergasted by what I just read. So because he did social science and not hard core science he isn’t worthy of this accolades? Does everyone need to be able to build something to be worthwhile. Smh, Nigerians be shaming social scientists since 1867.
If you don’t know a lot of Nigerians need to see psychologists, they are intenalizing things that should be treated which is why you see a lot of anger around.
In Maslow’s law of hierarchy we are still in the bottom rung, just surviving. It’s courses and practice like this that will show that we have moved up in the hierarchy cos we have gone beyond just survival.
He should be supported in whatever way possible so we encourage others to aspire more. Then maybe we can have people that will excel in medicine, engineering, IT….
      Please don’t hate just encourage.

one of the reasons i refused to take my result from babcock, the system changed the law and forced people to go back for a year or not graduate if they had a D in their result and after thousand of pleas they refused because the revenue from summer was to big to pass on But davido had tours, interviews and he graduated with a degree created for him and no record of a a student, not to knock davido at least he tried

But Babcock i remember all the people i meet during summer some that their results wasnt found online and they were told that they were On their own.

I look at them now they are one of the best Mua : Theodora the best Photographer : Blawz one of the best OAP ETC

Education doesnt matter anymore University is all about getting to know people and having the toolz you need to function in the real world.

I do not mean to insult Freeze but he is quite ignorant. The truth is Unilag will offer Ayodele further studies or a job. Asides from that, companies will be willing to take him on if he proves himself at his job interview. Also, I know about prestige scholarship given by the Federal Government through the National Universities Commission to the best 20 students who pass the tests set for all first class graduates thru out the federation… What i am trying to write is that this young man has all it takes to excel. Olajumoke on the other hand needed God intervention to be a better individual. Freeze shd stop fooling himself feeling like he has discovered the next big thing or he is the next Savior of the world..

I agree with you and @truth( you are a bit harsh, but i understand where you are coming from) psychology degrees are not that hard to attain compared to other degrees you mentioned, but the fact is, he did attain the degree and beyond successful. I understand you are skeptic about his scores and cgpa, dont worry nigeria is not as lawless as you think, he will have to prove himself during the national examination given to first class students in order to work with gov or receive more scholarship, and am glad that the government has such awards and program in place so that this young man can prove himself @omoh, unlike jumoke this guy can use his degree to have a successful happy life, truly jumoke needed this great blessings she is receiving. @chu by reading your reply it seems you didnt read everything @truth wrote. @ truth says he or she is a psychology degree holder, infact a psychiatrist and i t believe @truth has the right, just like all of us to say as he or she feels without being castigated just because his or her opinion does not favor yours. The truth is the guy no prove himself yet, and his situation no be like jumoke’s. Also the guy is not even qualified to treat anyone, ill rather go to the psychiatrist than this 1st degree holder. In the USA and most of the world his bachelor degree in arts(psychology) is equal to a high school diploma. He better plan and get a higher degree if he wants to be marketable in the international community. And also considering all the corruption in nigeria and its schools, i wont be surprised if he didnt earn all the grades fairly and end up failing the national examination when given. But I hope he uses the skills to make his life and those around him better.

    • The real dee

      March 5, 2016 at 10:36 pm

May God forgive you for this statement you just made. ‘In the USA and most of the world, his Bachelor degree in Art (Psychology) is equal to a high school diploma”. Pray tell, do you work for a credential evaluation agency? Or is it the inability to acknowledge that someome just achieved a feat in a great school like University of Lagos that made you make such demeaning and untrue statement?

You seem like one of the people who will tell a Nigerian graduate in the US to go back to school and do nursing because their foreign degree is worthless. How can you say a bachelors in Psych is equivalent to a high school diploma? ? And my friend I can vouch that UNILAG will not sell a first class degree with a prefect score.. That school has a little integrity. You won’t be surprised if he didn’t earn all the grades fairly because you are one of the lecturers who he bought his grades from. Iranu!

If you cannot appreciate this guy’s academic achievement, just shift and stop making harsh suggestive statements.

@Truth, my first impression after reading your comment was to put it down as hog-wash; a desperate bid to be contrarian and just get attention. But just in case you believe what you said and for the benefit of other people who may read this page, here’s a little info for you: names like

    Sigmund Freud-

    Abraham Maslow-Maslows hierarchy of needs

Daniel Kahneman-Author ‘thinking fast and slow’

Robert Cialdini-author ‘Influence-psychology of persuasion’ (a must read for every leader, publicist and tradesman)

Vilayanur Ramanchandran-a trail blazer who postulated the “mirror theory” and has saved the lives of individuals who had traumatic loss of limbs and phantom limb pain

    Paul Ekman-The human lie detector

Erik Erickson-Famous for the term “Identity crisis” an individual who didn’t even have a bachelor degree yet became a professor in Harvard and Yale.

All these names are names of famous psychologists. A cursory search would reveal the profound influence they have had in development of the human race even within the last century alone. There is so much to say about the link of pyschologists with ethnic pride, dominance of certain people globally, market forces and the likes. But this is Bella Naija and we’re here for news, reviews, your views and what have you not for a lectures so i’ll halt it here.

So when you come to social media and attempt to belittle another person’s work of five years, a record breaking achievement by one of us, a course of study of great minds, a citadel of learning and the academics in the faculty, I don’t know weather to shake my head in mirth or laugh at your ignorance.
This chap, Ayodele Dada has a great potential. If nurtured, who knows, his theories on the African/black race has the potential to turn the world upside down. I hope he gets more than a job offer and I hope he goes on and does great things. For his sake. For my sake. For our children’s sake.

      March 6, 2016 at 1:50 am

my dear, you are funny. Of course, I am aware of those great psychologists, but like i said, until this graduate can prove himself in the international market, then my dear your defense is useless. Maybe UNilag was a great university 20 years ago, but, as of 2016, not a lot of degree from there is valued much in the international market compared to other universities in the world. I only spoke of the degree which I know best, and my friend this guy, unless he created new theories that are valuable with in the study of psychology, I cannot and will not give him such accolades as freeze demands for him. For your info I graduated with honors in psychology from University of Chicago, a private university and went on to study medicine focusing on psychiatry at John Hopkins, so my friend don’t just write to seem smart, I have more insight in this major than you can muster. We all have opinions and i respect your right to give that opinion; as I expect you to respect mine, whether you agree with my point or not.

  21. Truth Teller

    March 6, 2016 at 7:36 pm

@Truth, did you miss the part where he is the FIRST Nigerian in 54 YEARS to achieve that feat? And you think it’s not praise worthy? Wow! I feel sorry that you have to reason this way and put someone down because according to you, he studied ‘a simple course’ not worthy enough. Are we still wondering why we are becoming an unserious generation? No career is a waste, but what is required is the much needed balance.

Our youth are now abandoning professional courses for entertainment, do we think the nation will thrive on entertainment in the next 40 years? There’s more to life than music, modeling, acting, comedy e.t.c. They have their space in society but as I earlier mentioned we need the balance and an example for our children to learn from. We can’t all be professionals, neither can we all be entertainers but there’s been a huge shift in encouraging education. The best endorsements go to entertainers which will make you question the whole point of going to school to study and remain in the Job market or manage the one(s) you don’t deserve or like.

On the other hand, this’s the first time I’m agreeing with Freeze, he summed up what has been on my mind. It’s time to start endorsing academic achievements not just people that sing about sex, body parts, e.t.c.
