Fulani Herdsmen Strike Again – 45 Killed & Over 100 Rendered Homeless in Taraba

Fulani-herdsmen-It has been reported that at least 45 people have been killed and over 100 others displaced in the latest attacks by Fulani Herdsmen in Taraba.

Confirming the incident, the Senior Special Assistant to Taraba State Governor on Media and Publicity, Sylvanus Giwa in a statement said 20 people were killed at Angai village, 9 each at Maisuma and Dorei villages, and 7 others at Fali village.

According to the statement, the Fulani Herdsmen unleashed the attacks on the community after the villagers resisted attempts by the Herdsmen to rape a lady.

The Commissioner of Police in Taraba State, Shaba Alkali told journalists that the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase has ordered the deployment of 60 policemen from Yola to assist the officers on ground to control the situation. He also said that the Force has arrested one Ardo Ayuba in connection with the attacks and are working hard to arrest the perpetrators of the act.
