In line with its commitment to empower the younger generation, Nigeria’s most innovative network, Etisalat recently extended its Career Counseling programme to students of secondary schools in Epe. Etisalat Career Counseling is a one-day session for junior and senior secondary school students held in partnership with Leadership Empowerment and Resource Network (LEARN), a not-for-profit Organisation.
Director, Regulatory & CSR, Etisalat Nigeria, Ikenna Ikeme explained that the career counseling platform enabled Etisalat employees to fulfill a desire to give back to society, appreciate volunteering time and employ their skills in providing career counseling and mentorship to students.
Commending Etisalat for its laudable initiative, Senior Project Officer, Leadership Empowerment and Resource Network (LEARN), Tonne Saheed said LEARN is glad to partner with Etisalat on the nation building mission. According to her, the benefit of this great CSR initiative will start to manifest in the nearest future and will in no small measure contribute to national development.
Eight schools benefitted from the Career Counseling session: Epe Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, Odo Obara Junior and Senior Schools, Alaro Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, and Odomola Junior and Senior Schools, all in Epe town of Lagos State.
Following the event in Epe, this year’s edition of Etisalat Career Counseling will also hold in three more locations within and outside Lagos.
