Sex Scandal: I Have Evidence that “will completely tear down this false accusation” – Hon. Samuel Ikon

One of the three lawmakers accused of soliciting for prostitutes from a hotel housekeeper while attending an international leadership training programme in the U.S., Hon. Samuel Ikon has said that he has “another proof which will completely tear down this false accusation”.

Ikon and Hon. Mark Gbillah (Benue) were alleged to have asked hotel parking attendants to assist them solicit for prostitutes.

Hon. Mohammed Gololo (Bauchi) in a letter  to the House of Assembly by U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, allegedly grabbed a housekeeper in his hotel room and solicited for sex.

According to TODAY.ng, Ikon, in a letter dated June 16 to Entwistle, called for the review of the case within seven days otherwise he will seek “legal redress in competent courts of law both in Nigeria and in the U.S.

“Let me state unequivocally sir that the allegation is not just false but in bad taste. I Hon. Samuel Ikon never in that trip, nor on any other trip to the US or anywhere else in the world, consort or sought to consort with prostitutes.

I’m an elder in my church since 2006 and clearly know the tenets and doctrines of my faith one of which abhors such desires for prostitutes as such very offensive to be linked.

I have no reason to seek comfort in the bosom of a prostitute with all attendant health risks especially the latest known as Zika Virus which has entered the US.

I have another proof of my innocence which will completely tear down this false conclusion but will leave it out for a later time should you fail to redeem my integrity and I’m forced to take legal action.

I therefore urge that you review this case within 7 days taking a more detailed look at evidences available for such like video recording, especially video showing time and date of such discussion, so you can realize a mistake has been made here and my integrity restored, else I will be seeking legal redress in competent courts of law both in Nigeria and in the U.S.,” he said.

The House on Tuesday passed a formal resolution directing its Committees on Ethics/Privileges, Foreign Relations to investigate the allegations.
