President BuhariReacting to media reports that the immediate past Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), who is also Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu is being investigated for crude oil swap deals, President Muhammadu Buhari appealed to Nigerians to ignore attempts by individuals aimed at tarnishing the image of his ministers and other senior government officials.

He said his ministers are being blackmailed by some Nigerians who are painting them with the brush of corruption without any concrete evidence.

According to a statement signed by the president’s Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Femi Adesina, the president said:

“Terrible and unfounded comments about other people’s integrity are not good. We are not going to spare anybody who soils his hands, but people should please wait till such individuals are indicted.”

President Buhari reiterated the administration’s commitment to probity, accountability and integrity, promising that transparency remains a watchword, which would never be trifled with.

    Dear Mr President
We had assumed you didn’t read Nigerian newspapers or watch Nigerian news, obviously you do, if not you wouldn’t jump in defence of your “saints”.
We just wonder, whether you haven’t heard of all the atrocities committed by suspected fulani herdsmen, the pockets of religious intolerance leading to separate deaths of at least two women. Didn’t you hear about the attack on a man for eating during fasting?
Okay, maybe like me you get queasy about blood. Is that why you are more concerned about the judiciary not concluding corruption cases and not about the bitting economic challenges in the country??
Abeg Baba B, some of us Nigerians feel you are chasing shadows, and involving yourself more in foreign affairs than Nigerian affairs.
If only you would take a definite position on some salient issues, it would go a long way to setting things right.

Yours faithfully, concerned citizen of the FRN.

P.S. Do you really believe ALL your ministers are free of corrupt practices, talk true o???

This man is a joke. You will be quick to pounce on the opposition without concrete evidence: I am not disappointed at all. I did not vote for you and will never vote for you even in my next life.
You are really disappointing patriotic Nigerians that voted you into office. No concrete evidence against Amaechi; fashola, fayemi, etc.

Honest Nigerians who voted for this man already agreed they made a mistake. 2019 will confirm if Nigerians have learnt a lesson. The man lives in a world of his own. Aside God or impeachment, we are saddled with him till 2019. I do not wish him dead and the hungry politicians will not impeach him. So, we wait.
