Monday Manicure with Eki: The Best Nail Shapes for Your Natural Nails
Few weeks ago on BN‘s Monday Manicure, we spoke all about nail shapes (click here if you missed it) and some of the more popular shapes happen to be the shapes with softer sides, Almond, Oval and Round – as opposed to a Square of Ballerina shape. In today’s post, we’re showing you how to file your nails into the Almond and Oval shape with this video by Ariane of Abetweene on YouTube.
These shapes are usually considered the best for your natural nails. If you ever wondered how to pick the best nail shape for your natural nails, you should mimic the shape of your cuticle line and most times its either Round or Oval. Although the Almond shape doesn’t mimic you cuticle line, it’s a stylish way to add a bit of length and edge to an otherwise boring round shape.
Other shapes like Stiletto, Ballerina or Lipstick are best kept for your nail extensions because these shapes are unrealistic for your nails (they don’t match your cuticle line) and could be harmful to your nails and cause it to break easily – your natural nail needs extra support to handle some shapes
