Tomato Price Crash as Commodity Floods Market | WATCH

Barely two months ago, Tomato was a scarce commodity across Nigeria. Four pieces was selling for about N200 – N500.

Farms across the country were hit with “Tuta Absoluta” also known as “Tomato Ebola”, a dangerous pest of tomatoes.

The price has now gone down, and a basket goes for between N2000 – N4500 at the farm markets. Previously it was selling for about N35,000.

While this is good news for the consumers, it’s a not so good news for farmers.

May the tide move in our favor just like this and let the FOREX crash and make the Naira appreciate. Amen.

i dont believe that the tomato apocalypse ebola was not orchestrated…but happy that this works to consumers advantage. maybe buhari about this shoddy feedback and complaints from people and decided to release the tomatoes they were holding hostage. just an imaginary scenario that makes ya go hmmm….
