Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja on Friday to attend a meeting of Zero Hunger in Africa, Nigeria chapter and not a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), NAN reports.

Obasanjo was quoted by PREMIUM TIMES as saying:

Those who know me, know that I have publicly announced my quitting partisan politics and those who will believe the purported story will believe anybody who tells him that his or her mother is not a woman.

If I quit a party when it was alive and seemingly united, how could I go back to a now divided, factionalized party grasping for breath?

The former military general said that the photo was taken on his way out of the event organised by Zero Hunger in Africa.

According to a statement by Tunde Arosanyin of the Zero Hunger in Africa on Saturday, it was just a coincidence that the two meetings were holding at the same venue.

”He came for zero hunger in Africa, Nigeria chapter meeting with Commodity Association Stakeholders. At closing, some PDP members came to greet him at the boardroom of the hunger meeting venue,” Arosanyin saidi.

The PDP, on Friday, August 5, inaugurated a convention committee ahead of the Aug. 17 convention in Port Harcourt.
