37-year old Niger Man who Raped Minor to be Re-arraigned for Murder

Niger State government has ordered the re-arrest and re-arraignment of one Nuhu Musa (earlier identified as Abubakar), 37, who abducted a 12-year old boy in the Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger, PUNCH reports.
Musa raped the victim repeatedly for 2 weeks until neighbours got wind of what was going on and raised alarm. The victim was then rescued and he was arrested.
Unfortunately, the victim who had sustained serious injuries, died while in hospital.
Musa was sentenced to one month imprisonment and fined N30,000 prior to the victim’s death.
A Kontagora Magistrates’ Court found him guilty of kidnap and rape of minor.
Musa’s sentence ended on Tuesday, April 4.
Niger Police has also said that it will carry out further investigation and that the convict will be charged with murder, rape and kidnap.
Hajiya Mariam Kolo, the Director-General of the Niger State Child Rights Protection Agency said that Musa abducted four other boys alongside the victim.
