“As they say, all good things do come to an end” – South African OAP Bonang Matheba resigns from her radio job after 3 years

South African OAP, Bonang Matheba took to her Twitter page yesterday to announce to her fans that she is quitting her job at Metro FM where she had worked for 3 years. This resignation came just hours after Lerato Kganyago was announced to have joined her as co-host on her show, “Front Row“, a move which she obviously did not approve of.

All the best in your future endeavors.

I think she could have called off that day to think through it. The most “regret” action or step is one taken in anger. just a little “sleep on it” could have been more appropriate.
Because you never shut doors on people’s faces just because of “change”, but rather process the change to see if it is favorable, beneficial, or what have you. Every employer wants an employee who embraces change, not run away from it.

Still wish you all the best. 🙂

Probably she found out that it is a polite replacement. So she resigned instead of getting fired unlike Nigerians who wait until they get fired.

Media and showbiz is a boiatch. She did the right thing by quitting assuming she knows more about the circumstances than we do. . Any decision made without you in the room /at the table is usually not in your best interest but against you. If she was sidelined as the decision was made, then they might be trying to show her the door. Hence her reason for chucking the deuces!

@temi, as an employee, does one have to be called to the round table as regards matters involving staff recruitment or change in timing of work schedule? I thought she had superiors she was expected to take orders from.

Showbiz/media are contracts type gigs. If her contracts is coming up for renewal and they bring cohost, that could mean not renewing her contract or being offered g a lower pay. Looks she knows best and radio or TV hosting gigs aren’t forever. They all come to an end soon so the sooner you can read the writing on the wall, the better and sooner you can restrategize. She is young she will find a better gig. Oh and I’m neither her fan nor hater. I’m talking pure business here. She has a shelf life like every TV or radio host. More so media execs can be babanla stonecold when it comes to curving people.

Maybe ratings dropped…. how talented is she as a host,i don’t know…but I know that media business can be cruel and maybe the bosses had to look out for themselves….. no be by wearing pant, you gorra add serious value tobe valued….and if you do and it isn’t valued, then by all means give them the notice to leave…
