#RichardQuestInNigeria: Richard Quest Meets with Mo Abudu | See Photos

Published

 on

Famed CNN anchor Richard Quest was in Nigeria last week on a voyage of discovery, learning about local culture and how it impacts on people doing business in Africa’s largest economy.

Not surprisingly, he turned to Mo Abudu, founder and CEO of EbonyLife TV and Executive Producer of The Wedding Party, the most successful film in Nollywood history. As one of the leading surveyors of Nigerian culture, Mo was the ideal person to guide Richard through the maze of contradictions that often confound newcomers.

During his trip to Lagos, Mo took Richard for a tasty lunch at NOK by Alara in Victoria Island and they went for a jog along the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge, where Richard learned the nuances of Nigerian attitudes to business and that elusive ‘Nigerian factor’ that keeps people proud, successful and resilient.

As in!!!!! He needs a new stylist wallahi, he’s always in one bogus baggy suit that it took Nigerian heat to remind him of other clothing options.

SMH! Now we know why Mo asked Steph over for Christmas, so she can curry these types of favours.

And what if that’s why she did it? What have you done with your own life? Gosh. If you do something good…people will talk about you. If you don’t do something good, they will also be the one to “condemn” you for not using your position.

Does it not make sense for someone like Mo, to help tell the Nigerian Narrative the way it is, instead of making Richard Quest to tell it from an uninformed understanding?

Read the comment again, slowly this time. Take a deep breath and then exhale because your response is very unrelated.

This is the 1st time I’m noticing that Aunty mo is a beautiful woman. I’ve been blinded by her intelligence and drive and all her accomplishments that I didn’t even notice she was beautiful, even when I did I just assumed it was her make up and fabulous style. With no make up and a huge smile wallahi she looks 30.

I have heard of that name: Chike Chikeluba.

Has he ever lived in Enugu?
