“Harry Potter” Actor Robert Hardy dies at 91
Veteran actor Robert Hardy has died, aged 91.
According to The Guardian, his children, Emma, Justine and Paul, in a statement announcing his death said: “Gruff, elegant, twinkly, and always dignified, he is celebrated by all who knew him and loved him, and everyone who enjoyed his work.”
Hardy played Cornelius Fudge, the Minister for Magic, in four parts of the Harry Potter movies.
The actor whose theatre, film and television career spanned 70 years, was also popular for playing Winston Churchill on stage.
He also starred as Siegfried Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small for 12 years.
J.K. Rowling who wrote the books which were adapted in the Harry Potter movies took to Twitter to mourn the actor.
“So very sad to hear about Robert Hardy. He was such a talented actor and everybody who worked with him on Potter loved him.”
